In defense of Hungary and against the aberrant effort of the EU to corrupt children

The ideological bias that the governing bodies of the European Union are adopting is increasingly scandalous. This week we have a new example.

Ursula von der Leyen calls Hungarian anti-pedophilia law "shame"

This Wednesday, the president of the European Union, Ursula von der Leyen, attacked Hungary, calling the recently approved anti-pedophilia law as "shame", stating that it "discriminates people on the basis of their sexual orientation & goes against the EU's fundamental values", and announcing that it will use "all the legal powers" of the Commission against it.

Von der Leyen's silence on what happens in Catalonia

The insistence of the Brussels elite on the sexualization of children as if it were a fundamental value of the EU is aberrant: does the EU Treaty affirm such a thing? Yesterday I answered her message reproaching her that Spanish speakers are discriminated against because of their language in Catalonia (Spain) and she has never said anything, despite the serious violation of rights that implies that in a bilingual community the schooling of children in the language is prohibited Spanish, which is spoken by the majority of Catalans. Apparently, as this undemocratic abuse does not interfere with the agenda of the LGTB pressure groups, Ursula von der Leyen is not concerned.

Brussels' attempt to impose abortion and gender ideology in Poland

It is not the first time that the Brussels elite have manifested this tendency to impose their sexual agenda on children. Last year the European Parliament lashed out at a Polish anti-pedophilia bill claiming it involved a "criminalization of sex education." If you wonder, like me, what idea of sex education some in the EU have when they react so virulently to an anti-pedophilia law, the answer is easy to find.

In 2019 the same political groups approved in Brussels a motion to impose abortion and gender ideology among Polish children. Populars, socialists and communists passed over the national sovereignty of Poland and the necessary protection of children to force a member country to assume its ideological agenda on sexual matters. A clear sign of the totalitarian drift that the EU is adopting, which was founded as a free trade area and is becoming a mega-state determined to impose on all Europeans the ideological dogmas of some, damaging human rights such as ideological freedom religious freedom and freedom of education.

The Hungarian anti-pedophilia law was approved by 157 votes in favor and only 1 against

As you know, in Counting Stars I have the habit of offering you direct access to the documentary sources of information. The aforementioned anti-pedophilia law was presented in the Hungarian Parliament on May 25, as legislative project T/16365: you can see here all the legislative information related to its elaboration of the project. Here you can read the original project (PDF), entitled "law on the intensification of action against pedophile offenders and the modification of certain laws to protect children."

The legislative project was approved on June 15 by 157 votes in favor, 1 against and 0 abstentions (detailed results can be seen here). The only MP who voted against was Székely Sándor, from the left-wing Hungarian Solidarity Movement party. After its approval and after being signed by the President of the Republic, the law was published yesterday by the Hungarian Gazette. The parts that have caused Ursula von der Leyen's anger are two modifications of Law XXXI of 1997 on the Protection of Children and the Administration of Guardianship. The first adds the following:

"In the child protection system, the State protects the right of children to their own identity according to their sex at birth".

The second says the following:

"In order to guarantee the purposes and rights of the child, this law prohibits making available to children under the age of eighteen pornographic content and content that represents sexuality for their own purposes or promotes the deviation of sexual identity, the reassignment of sex and homosexuality."

Hungarian law is legitimate: the indoctrination promoted by Brussels is not

This obviously clashes with the plans of promoters of gender ideology, who seek to prematurely sexualize children through compulsory indoctrination in schools. For example, in Spain sex education plans have even been approved since the age of 3, something purely infamous. Progressive consensus parties are bent on robbing children of their innocence and imposing age-inappropriate content on them, and now they also want children to question the sex they were born with. And those who do that are cynically scandalized that Hungary wants to protect its children, when what is really scandalous and illegitimate is the sexual indoctrination that Brussels wants to impose throughout the EU.

This ideological drift of the EU threatens to end up breaking it

The latest episode of this new ideological colonialism promoted by some in the EU occurred yesterday: a part of the member countries signed a statement against the aforementioned Hungarian law: Belgium, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Sweden. Although Austria and Greece became unmarked, they eventually joined the statement, along with Cyprus. Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Romania have disengaged from this position. Significantly, most of the countries that had to endure communism are those that now distance themselves from the new Brussels impositions. If the European Commission and the progressive parties want to break the EU with their ideological impositions, they are on the right track.
