Lo empez\u00f3 a construir el fara\u00f3n Ptolomeo IV Fil\u00f3pator en el a\u00f1o 200 antes de Cristo en Debod, Nubia, a orillas del r\u00edo Nilo en el sur de Egipto, para adorar al dios Am\u00f3n. Desmontado al construirse la presa de Asu\u00e1n, el templo fue regalado por Egipto a Espa\u00f1a en 1968. Pharaoh Ptolemy IV Philopator began its construction in 200 BC in Debod, Nubia, next the River Nile in southern Egypt, to worship the god Amun. Removed to build the Aswan High Dam, the temple was donated by Egypt to Spain in 1968.
