Moore era un general brit\u00e1nico que muri\u00f3 en la batalla de Elvi\u00f1a el 16 de enero de 1809 herido por una bala de ca\u00f1\u00f3n, cuando combat\u00eda junto a los espa\u00f1oles contra los invasores napole\u00f3nicos. Moore fue un h\u00e9roe, un caballero y un militar honrado y humanitario. Cuando las tropas napole\u00f3nicas consiguieron conquistar La Coru\u00f1a, el Mariscal franc\u00e9s Jean de Dieu Soult orden\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n de la tumba en homenaje a su enemigo ca\u00eddo en combate.<\/p>\n<p><b><big>Tomb of Sir John Moore<\/big><\/b><br \/>\nTomb of Sir John Moore in the Garden of San Carlos in La Coru\u00f1a. Moore was a British general who died in the Battle of  Elvi\u00f1a on January 16, 1809 wounded by a cannon ball, when he fought alongside the Spanish against the Napoleonic invaders. Moore was a hero, a gentleman and an honorable and humanitarian military.
