Esta foto fue imposible de hacer durante m\u00e1s de medio siglo, pues ante este baluarte se construy\u00f3 a mediados del siglo XX <a href=\"http:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2010\/03\/10\/vigo-el-restaurante-el-castillo\/\">el restaurante \"El Castillo\"<\/a>, que <a href=\"http:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2013\/11\/15\/derribo-del-restaurante-el-castillo\/\">fue desmontando a finales del a\u00f1o pasado<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Esta baluarte forma parte del primer recinto del castillo, cuya construcci\u00f3n se inici\u00f3 en 1656, cuando la ciudad s\u00f3lo ten\u00eda unos 500 habitantes. La garita del Baluarte del Diamante es la m\u00e1s antigua de las que se conservan en este castillo.
