Despite its lousy state, the video Tomcat can be considered lucky. And while some Tomcats still remain in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2014\/10\/27\/asi-es-the-boneyard-el-hogar-de-miles-de-aviones-de-la-guerra-fria\/\">\"The Boneyard,\" the colossal aircraft depot at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (Arizona)<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/story\/2007\/07\/02\/pentagon-destroying-old-f-14s-to-keep-them-out-enemy-hands.html\">most of the fleet was dismantled<\/a> to prevent Iran - the sole operator of this aircraft - to obtain spare parts with which to keep its fleet active.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>American Erik Johnston is an aviation buff.
