It was published last year and is set in Kazakhstan.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2017\/07\/31\/a-spectacular-360o-video-that-takes-you-to-space-as-the-first-polish-cosmonaut\/\">A Spectacular 360\u00ba Video that Takes You to Space as the First Polish Cosmonaut<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2017\/06\/15\/urban-explorers-find-an-abandoned-museum-in-the-sewers-of-barcelona\/\">Urban Explorers Find an Abandoned Museum in the Sewers of Barcelona<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>In this former Soviet republic, located in Central Asia, is located <strong>the Baikonur cosmodrome, the first of the space bases created by the USSR and still active<\/strong>, under Russian control. It is a huge base, which contains some facilities now in disuse. <strong>One of those abandoned buildings is the MZK<\/strong>, a large hangar located at coordinates 45.94046\u00b0 N 63.31841\u00b0 E. You can see it in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/45\u00b056'25.7%22N+63\u00b019'06.3%22E\/@45.9404637,63.316216,601m\/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d45.94046!4d63.31841\">this Google Maps window<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d2618.65043741537!2d63.31621595087572!3d45.940463709456175!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x0%3A0x0!2zNDXCsDU2JzI1LjciTiA2M8KwMTknMDYuMyJF!5e1!3m2!1ses!2ses!4v1522785028982\" width=\"665\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inside this hangar there are two real gems of the Soviet space race: the shuttles of the Buran programme OK-1K2<\/strong> (nicknamed unofficially as \"Ptichka\")<strong> and OK-4M.<\/strong> Two of the 14 apparatuses that the space program consisted of, with which the Soviets tried to compete with NASA's successful space shuttles.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/882\/27342548548_258762cbbe_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Only one of the Soviet shuttles, the OK-1K1 Buran<\/strong>, first of its kind and destroyed during the collapse of the MIK-112 hangar in Baikonur on May 12, 2002, <strong>was completed.<\/strong> The Ptichka was also kept in that hangar. It was not completed - its construction began in 1988 and was abandoned when 97% of the shuttle was completed - and was transferred to the MZK after that disaster. In turn, <strong>the OK-4M was built in 1983 as a testing platform for the Buran programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/896\/27342549138_d9e16e1dc9_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On July 6 last year, the group of urban explorers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC73dVtWf9mpjiWYkXyIlm7A\">Exploring the Unbeaten Path<\/a> posted on Youtube <strong>a formidable video sneaking clandestinely into the Baikonur cosmodrome and entering the MZK hangar:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-q7ZVXOU3kM?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The video shows the group of explorers avoiding the surveillance of the base.
