Last year, after a concert in Colombia, <a href=\"https:\/\/churchpop.com\/2017\/10\/09\/u2s-bono-mistakenly-receives-eucharist-at-mass-after-concert-in-columbia\/\">he allowed himself to be photographed attending Mass and going to Communion<\/a>. Years ago, the group <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/mysticpost\/2016\/05\/24\/u2-bonos-touching-tribute-to-st-john-paul-ii\/\">even paid tribute to Saint John Paul II<\/a>, one of the Popes who have made the most effort to give voice and defend their unborn children against the crime of abortion.<\/p>\n<p><big>Rain of criticism on Twitter against U2's abortionist positioning<\/big><\/p>\n<p>The U2 tweet, which is a clear support of that band to the legalization of prenatal murder in Ireland, has received hundreds of critical messages from fans. <em>\"<strong>This breaks my heart. I have loved and followed you for 20 years. I still love you but I can\u2019t follow you down this road.<\/strong> My tickets to upcoming shows will go unused,\"<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChristyRae2013\/status\/991445859949858818\">Christy from Illinois, United States, says.<\/a> <em>\"Would you deny for others what you demand for yourself?<\/em>\" <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheDrewParker\/status\/991434554991837185\">Drew, another American follower, asks<\/a>, adding: <em>\"Life is beautiful, how can you deny it to these children when each of us would cling to our own so fiercely...\"<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SeanandSusan\/status\/991736286426824704\">From Ireland, Sean expresses how he feels:<\/a> <em>\"<strong>So disappointed. A fan since the release of the single 'Fire' back in the day. <\/strong> I'm pro choice as I believe God is. All our choices are our choices and should be freely made But to support abortion?? And this coming from such a Life loving, Life giving band.\"<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/_rmanon\/status\/991442230270398464\">From Mexico, Rodr\u00edgo tells them<\/a>: <strong><em>\"Pretty disappointed of you guys\"<\/em><\/strong>, and when someone asks him why, he adds: <em>\"Because they promote Christian values and this doesn\u2019t seem one in any way ...\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p><big>\"Why do you want to stop the heartbeat of the unborn baby?\"<\/big><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MejTom\/status\/991630525520543744\">An Irish follower reminds them of the title of one of their songs:<\/a> <strong><em>\"U2 \" two hearts beat as one\" Why do you want to stop the unborn baby's heart from beating ?\"<\/em><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bert_sugar\/status\/991724421491675137\">From the United States, Bert asks them:<\/a> <em>\"please get back to promoting peace and bringing awareness to real injustices. <strong>This is not a woman\u2019s choice issue, but a choice for ending a life or not!<\/strong>\"<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/drankin266\/status\/991627116415520769\">From Kansas, Dave points out:<\/a> <em>\"For real?  Dead kids can\u2019t buy your records or go to your shows.\"<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/debian_us\/status\/992503299202011141\">Rub\u00e9n, from Spain, comments:<\/a> <em>\"<strong>I am so disappointed. I\u2019ve been @U2 fan for 25 years. You defended life, family and somehow Christian morality. This support is against life.<\/strong> I hope you\u2019ll publicly retreat this endorsement. Life\u2019s more important than music and fun.\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p><big>Wave of criticism also on the U2's Facebook page<\/big><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/u2\/photos\/a.55092266685.69297.5678046685\/10156619104811686\/?type=3\">Messages similar to these, by the hundreds, have also been posted on the U2's Facebook page<\/a>, where the Irish band also showed their support for the initiative to unprotect unborn children and deny them the right to live. Personally, <strong>I feel as disappointed as all those followers.
