Moreover, the North American country is on the list just after Nigeria, the country of the massive kidnappings of women by the terrorists of Boko Haram, a criminal gang associated with the Islamic State.

Is there more sexual violence in the US than in Syria?

The agency justifies this complete absurdity in two issues: sexual violence (the survey places the USA as the third most dangerous country, above Syria and the Congo) and non-sexual violence (in this case the US is in sixth place, above Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Congo). The most grotesque thing is that Reuters itself said in March that in the war in Syria rapes have been used as a weapon of war, but now it says that the US is more dangerous than Syria for women. It is complete madness.

Many respondents ranked the US among the 5 most dangerous countries for a woman

The Reuters Foundation explains the methodology that has followed with this survey: "We contacted 548 experts focused on women’s issues including aid and development professionals, academics, health workers, policymakers, non-government organisation workers, journalists, and social commentators." Reuters does not indicate anywhere who are "experts" or what criteria followed for their selection. In addition, the Reuters Foundation website points out the following: "We asked respondents to name the five most dangerous countries from the 193 United Nations member states." This means that many of the respondents placed the US among the five countries most dangerous to women. What global vision of the world do those who responded in that way to that question?

Reuters and his enmity towards Trump

It is not the first time that Reuters is the center of a controversy over the treatment given to information related to the United States and its current president. Last year the British agency described as "peace activists" violent antiTrump protesters, which led to such criticism that the agency ended up erasing the tweet in which he had made that claim. Two years ago, Reuters broadcast an article by Mohamad Bazzi accusing Trump of "Islamophobia," accusing him of basing his victory on the Republican Party primaries on "the demonization of Islam." Last summer, Reuters circulated a manipulated poll to say that eight out of ten Trump voters had doubts about him, a figure that does not correspond to the approval ratings of the current president.

Since the arrival of Donald Trump to the White House, some media are completely losing the trial.
