After the defeat of these three powers in the World War I, <strong>on November 11, 1918 the Poles, headed by J\u00f3zef Pi\u0142sudski, proclaimed their independence<\/strong> after 123 years when their homeland was erased from the map, but still alive in their hearts , as the first verses of D\u0105browski's Mazurka say, the Polish National Anthem: <strong><em>\"Jeszcze \"Polska nie zgin\u0119\u0142a, kiedy my \u017cyjemy\"<\/em> (Poland has not yet died, so long as we still live).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Spain, and with the support of the Polish Embassy, there will be some events to commemorate this anniversary:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>On Saturday November 10 at 7:00 pm there will be a gala to celebrate this centenary at the Auditorium of the Obispo Perell\u00f3 School<\/strong>, in Madrid, at Virgen del Sagrario Street, 22 entrance by Jos\u00e9 del Hierro 2. You can get there by Metro de la Concepcion (Line 7) and Quintana (Line 5).<\/li>\n<li><strong>On Sunday, November 11 at 12:00 a solemn Holy Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral of Almudena, in Madrid<\/strong>, presided by Cardinal Osoro. The Mass will be concelebrated by chaplains of the Polish communities and by other priests, and will be attended by the Polish ambassador to Spain, Marzenna Adamczyk.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On Sunday, November 11 at 6:00 pm,<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivalencia.org\/contenido.php?a=6&pad=6&modulo=37&id=17514&pagina=1\">a solemn Holy Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral of Valencia<\/a>, presided over by Cardinal Ca\u00f1izares.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On November 11, from 6:02 pm to 1:00 am, the fountain of the Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid will be illuminated with the white and red colors<\/strong> of the national flag of Poland.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On Tuesday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m., in Madrid, Tribuna del Hispanismo will present its fifth edition dedicated to Polish hispanism at the Cervantes Institute<\/strong> (Calle de Alcal\u00e1 49). It will be attended by professors Jan Kieniewicz and Urszula Aszyk and the ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Madrid, Marzenna Adamczyk.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On Saturday, November 17 at 5:30 p.m., a celebration of the independence of Poland will be held at the Daoiz y Velarde School, on Infantado 2 street in Alcal\u00e1 de Henares<\/strong> (Madrid), at the initiative of the \"Polonica\" Association of Parent of Children of Polish Speech.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On Sunday, November 18 at 10:15 a Mass commemorating the centenary of the independence of Poland will be celebrated in the Church of Saint George Martyr, in Paseo de la Estaci\u00f3n Street 17, in Alcal\u00e1 de Henares<\/strong> (Madrid), at the initiative of the \"Polonica\" Association of Parents of Children of Polish Speech.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On November 18 at 11:00 a.m., in the Europa Park of Torrej\u00f3n de Ardoz (Madrid), the Centennial Race for the recovery of the independence of Poland will be celebrated<\/strong>, from the Trevi Fountain. The accreditation to participate in the main race, of 5 kilometers, will be done that same day from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On Sunday, November 25 at 1:00 pm, a Holy Mass will be celebrated in Madrid for the centenary of Poland's independence.<\/strong> It will be in the Parish of the Virgin of Nuria, c \/ Juan de Urbieta 5.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On December 8th at 10:00 in the morning, in Madrid, the Cultural and Playful Association Dragon and the Historical-Cultural Association \"Poland First to Fight\" will celebrate a day of open doors<\/strong> commemorating the centenary of the recovery of the independence of Poland.
