What happened?<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2018\/11\/15\/socialists-and-communists-vote-against-a-condemnation-of-political-persecution-in-cuba\/\">Spanish Socialists and communists vote against a condemnation of political persecution in Cuba<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p><big>The statement published on Friday by the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/big><\/p>\n<p>This Friday, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cancilleria.gob.bo\/webmre\/comunicado\/3770\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia published a statement<\/a> denouncing that <em>\"people who have been identified as <strong>officials of the Spanish Embassy in Bolivia, accompanied by people with their faces covered, attempted to enter the diplomatic residence in a surreptitious and clandestine manner of Mexico in La Paz.\"<\/em><\/strong> According to the statement, the Bolivian Police <em>\"stopped the entry of vehicles to the facilities, since the presence of people with faces covered in the condominium represented a potential threat. The diplomatic staff of the Embassy of Spain freely entered the Mexican diplomatic residence and their dignity was respected at all times and their personal security was protected.<\/em>\" In addition, the Bolivian Foreign Ministry said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>\"The diplomatic and security personnel of the Embassy of Spain in Bolivia are not authorized to carry firearms, nor wear outfits that hide their identity.<\/strong> These acts contravene the most fundamental diplomatic practices and violate the principle of inviolability, considering also that <strong>they used vehicles with diplomatic plates assigned to the Embassy of Spain, misusing the immunities<\/strong>, privileges and guarantees that the Bolivian State recognizes and grants to any Diplomatic Mission accredited in the country.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><big>Mexico gives refuge in that embassy to people accused of sedition and terrorism<\/big><\/p>\n<p>The statement adds that <strong>these facts <em>\"ratify the attitude of interference in the internal affairs of Bolivia by the Government of Mexico and its accredited Embassy in La Paz<\/strong>, whose behaviors are stressing relations between the two countries.\"<\/em> As Infobae pointed out on December 23, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infobae.com\/america\/agencias\/2019\/12\/24\/bolivia-9-exaltos-cargos-refugiados-en-embajada-de-mexico\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nine former officials of the Government of Evo Morales, including five of their ministers, are refugees at the Mexican Embassy in La Paz.<\/a> There is a circumstance that several of them, starting with the former Minister of the Presidency Juan Ram\u00f3n Quintana, are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/es\/fiscal%C3%ADa-de-bolivia-ordena-arresto-de-poderoso-exministro-de-la-presidencia\/a-51412617\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">denounced before the Bolivian Prosecutor for sedition, terrorism and terrorist financing, among other crimes.<\/a> Yesterday, the Interior Minister of Bolivia, Arturo Murillo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afp.com\/es\/noticias\/17\/bolivia-cree-que-espana-busco-fuga-de-asilado-en-embajada-mexicana-en-la-paz-doc-1nc3d42\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">declared<\/a>: <em>\"We fear that <strong>what was going to be done was to take out a common criminal such as Juan Ram\u00f3n Quintana; This has been aborted.\"<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><big>The Spanish Foreign Ministry says it was a \"courtesy\" visit<\/big><\/p>\n<p>This same Friday the images of what happened were broadcast in Bolivia, which you can see in the following video, which also includes a statement by Bolivian Foreign Minister Karen Longaric. <strong>In the images you can see the two vehicles that were retained and that were occupied by officials of the Embassy of Spain<\/strong>, and that were rebuked by some people - supposedly neighbors - who felt alarmed when they saw them:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ROCeYEuhF5g\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/internacional\/2019\/12\/28\/5e079dd4fdddffdc318b45a4.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the masked men were four police officers from the Special Operations Group (GEO) of the National Police.<\/a> On the other hand, shortly after midnight from Friday to Saturday, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.exteriores.gob.es\/Portal\/es\/SalaDePrensa\/NotasDePrensa\/Paginas\/2019_NOTAS_P\/20191228_NOTA175.aspx\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Spanish Ministry <em>of Foreign Affairs published a statement<\/a> announcing an investigation into these events during \"the visit of the ad interim Business Manager of Spain in Bolivia to the Ambassador of Mexico in that country\"<\/em>, and pointing out that <em><strong>\"the purpose of the visit made by the Charg\u00e9 d'affaires of Spain was exclusively courtesy<\/strong> and strongly denies that it could be aimed at facilitating the exit of people who are isolated in those units.\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p><big>The opposition in Spain asks for explanations: Vox asks if the refugees by Mexico were contacted<\/big><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vox_es\/status\/1211016381673721856\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vox has already announced that it will register a battery of questions to the Government on Monday.<\/a> Among other things, the party presiding by Santiago Abascal will ask if the Business Manager of the Embassy of Spain made that visit on her own initiative or following orders, and <strong>if she maintained contact during the same with the refugees at the Mexican Embassy<\/strong> and who are denounced before the Bolivian Justice. Podemos has continued to support Morales even after his resignation after the electoral fraud scandal in the Bolivian general elections of October (Photo: Efe).<\/div>\n<p><big>Bolivian former president says one of the refugees in Mexico \"paid tens of thousands of euros\" to Podemos<\/big><\/p>\n<p>Significantly, <strong>the far-left party Podemos<\/strong>, an ally of the socialist government of Pedro S\u00e1nchez and related to the regimes of Morales and Maduro, <strong>has maintained absolute silence about these events.<\/strong> Precisely yesterday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.es\/internacional\/abci-tuto-quiroga-expresidente-bolivia-sanchez-y-podemos-deben-estar-muertos-miedo-201912282003_noticia.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Bolivian former president Jorge 'Tuto' Quiroga said that S\u00e1nchez and Podemos <em>\"are dead of fear<\/a> because from Bolivia and Venezuela <strong>the enormous amount of money stolen from our countries by these gentlemen in the name of constitutional colonialism will be reported.\"<\/strong><\/em> The references to Podemos are related to <a href=\"https:\/\/okdiario.com\/espana\/fiscal-bolivia-ve-siete-delitos-consultora-vinculada-monedero-4966119\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the investigation being carried out by the Bolivian Prosecutor's Office against the company Neurona Consulting, linked to Juan Carlos Monedero, ideologue of Podemos<\/a>, who would have received 12 million Bolivians (more than 1.5 million dollars) between 2017 and 2018 for eight contracts made irregularly, according to the spanish media <a href=\"https:\/\/okdiario.com\/espana\/fiscal-bolivia-ve-siete-delitos-consultora-vinculada-monedero-4966119\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ok Diario<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As it happens, <a href=\"https:\/\/okdiario.com\/espana\/empresa-vinculada-monedero-borra-web-15-millones-dedo-evo-morales-4968443\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a few days ago said company deleted its website<\/a> in full investigation of Bolivian Justice.
