{"id":47091,"date":"2022-04-15T18:02:23","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T16:02:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=47091"},"modified":"2024-04-15T00:29:39","modified_gmt":"2024-04-14T22:29:39","slug":"russia-threatens-to-destroy-the-cemetery-of-poles-killed-by-the-ussr-in-katyn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/04\/15\/russia-threatens-to-destroy-the-cemetery-of-poles-killed-by-the-ussr-in-katyn\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia threatens to destroy the cemetery of Poles killed by the USSR in Katyn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The escalation of provocations and fanaticism that Russia is leading is now also directed against a cemetery of victims of Soviet communism.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/04\/08\/katyn-1940-bucha-2022-what-the-kremlin-can-do-to-deny-its-crimes\/\">Katyn 1940, Bucha 2022: what the Kremlin can do to deny its crimes<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/04\/04\/a-russian-state-agency-calls-for-a-dictatorship-in-ukraine-and-a-massacre-like-the-one-in-katyn\/\">A Russian state agency calls for a dictatorship in Ukraine and a massacre like the one in Katyn<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p><big>A march supported by officials to threaten to destroy the Katyn cemetery<\/big><\/p>\n<p>The latest of these provocations has been <a href=\"https:\/\/dorzeczy.pl\/kraj\/289666\/do-czego-posunie-sie-rosja-ciezki-sprzet-na-katynskim-cmentarzu.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a march supported by officials from the Smolensk Oblast, in Russia<\/a>, and by Russian nationalists, with excavators and trucks, which <strong>has been directed to the cemetery of the Polish martyrs of Katyn, threatening to destroy it.<\/strong> Here we can see a video of the march broadcast by a Russian media outlet (via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/quintocolumno\/status\/1514679699917656071\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@quintocolumno<\/a>):<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"rumble\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/embed\/vyhach\/?pub=ck0k2\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><big>The murder of 20,000 Polish prisoners by the Soviets in 1940<\/big><\/p>\n<p>In 1940, in the Katyn forest, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2018\/04\/12\/katyn-75-years-of-lies-and-communist-denial-of-the-massacre-of-22000-poles\/\">22,000 prisoners of the Polish Army were killed by the Soviets by shooting them in the neck<\/a>, a war crime that the USSR denied until 1991. Even today, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2021\/01\/29\/putin-comes-to-the-rescue-of-communism-he-wants-to-ban-equating-the-ussr-with-nazism\/\">the Putin regime, nostalgic for the Soviet Union<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/04\/08\/katyn-1940-bucha-2022-what-the-kremlin-can-do-to-deny-its-crimes\/\">has blocked the investigation of that massacre<\/a>, preventing Poland from accessing the documentation of the case.<\/p>\n<p><big>The pretext for the march was the removal of Soviet monuments in Poland<\/big><\/p>\n<p>According to the Belarusian journalist Tadeusz Giczan, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TadeuszGiczan\/status\/1514894841309708295\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the pretext for this march against the Katyn cemetery would be the \"demolition of Soviet monuments in Poland\"<\/a>, measures that are directed against monuments, not cemeteries. It must be remembered that in September 1939, Poland was invaded by an alliance formed by Nazi Germany and the USSR. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2017\/11\/29\/the-lesser-known-aspects-of-life-in-poland-after-the-german-soviet-occupation-of-1939\/\">Both occupiers committed horrendous crimes in Poland<\/a>, in the case of the USSR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/04\/13\/putin-repeats-in-ukraine-a-crime-against-humanity-that-stalin-committed-in-poland\/\">deporting 1.2 million Poles, many of them sent to the Gulag in Siberia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To this we must add that in the Soviet occupation of Poland that began in 1944, and that established a puppet communist dictatorship of the USSR, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2017\/07\/17\/thats-how-the-liberation-of-poland-by-the-red-army-was-the-mass-rapes-of-girls-and-women\/\">Red Army soldiers raped more than 100,000 Polish women and girls between the ages of 4 and 80<\/a>, <strong>in addition to dedicating themselves to looting the country<\/strong> (as Russian soldiers do now in Ukraine), which is why the Soviet military is known in Poland as \"Czerwona zaraza\" (The red plague).<\/p>\n<p>It is insulting to the Polish people that there are still monuments to these war criminals on their soil, but <strong>in Poland there are still Soviet cemeteries and there are no plans to remove them.<\/strong> One of the largest is in Warsaw, containing the remains of more than 21,000 Red Army soldiers.<\/p>\n<p><big>They launch a petition to resolve the \"Katyn issue\"<\/big><\/p>\n<p>Giczan has also pointed out that the protagonists of the march against the Katyn cemetery <em>\"<strong>also started a petition to resolve the \u201cKatyn issue\u201d once and for all<\/strong>.\"<\/em> One wonders if this not only includes destroying the aforementioned cemetery, but also returning to the official Soviet version that for almost half a century denied its responsibility for the massacre.
