The system has been highly effective in protecting the Israeli population from such attacks, but it has a serious drawback: <strong>the Iron Dome uses Tamir missiles to hit its targets<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcemag.com\/article\/iron-dome\/#:~:text=The%20principal%20drawback%20of%20Iron,whose%20numbers%20are%20being%20quoted.\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">each costing about $100,000<\/a>.
