The LGM-25C Titan II intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), with nuclear warheads, were in service with the United States between 1962 and 1987.<\/p>\n

Last year we saw here an exploration of an old Titan II missile silo<\/a> at Vandenberg AFB, California. That silo was abandoned and in poor condition, and it no longer had a missile. However, in Arizona you can visit a museum installed in an old silo that still preserves its Titan II missile<\/strong>, although inert, of course. This is the Titan Missile Museum<\/a>, located 40 kilometers south of Tucson and managed by a non-profit organization, the Arizona Aerospace Foundation. It is the only Titan II silo that is currently preserved with its missile.<\/strong> The silo was built in 1963 and decommissioned in 1984.<\/p>\n
