Russia is still unable to take even the entire Donbass region.<\/p>\n<p>To give us a better idea of the failure of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we can compare it with <strong>the duration of successful invasions over the last century:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>Denmark<\/strong> (1941): <strong>6 hours.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>Luxembourg<\/strong> (1940): <strong>1 day.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>Belgium<\/strong> (1940): <strong>1 day.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Iraqi invasion of <strong>Kuwait<\/strong> (1990): <strong>2 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>US invasion of <strong>Grenada<\/strong> (1983): <strong>4 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Japanese invasion of <strong>Indochina<\/strong> (1940): <strong>4 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Soviet invasion of <strong>Latvia<\/strong> (1940): <strong>5 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>The Netherlands<\/strong> (1941): <strong>7 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Japanese invasion of <strong>Singapore<\/strong> (1942): <strong>8 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Russian invasion of <strong>Georgia<\/strong> (2008): <strong>9 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>Yugoslavia<\/strong> (1941): <strong>12 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>Belgium<\/strong> (1941): <strong>18 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>Norway<\/strong> (1940): <strong>31 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German-Soviet invasion of <strong>Poland<\/strong> (1939): <strong>36 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Allied invasion of <strong>Iraq<\/strong> (2003): <strong>42 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>US invasion of <strong>Panama<\/strong> (1989-1990): <strong>42 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>France<\/strong> (1940): <strong>46 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>German invasion of <strong>Greece<\/strong> (1941): <strong>56 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Japanese invasion of <strong>Malaysia<\/strong> (1941-1942): <strong>66 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Allied invasion of <strong>Afghanistan<\/strong> (2001): <strong>72 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Japanese invasion of the <strong>Dutch East Indies<\/strong> (1941-1942): <strong>126 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Japanese invasion of <strong>Philippines<\/strong> (1941-1942): <strong>193 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thus, <strong>the Russian invasion of the Ukraine is only comparable in duration to the Japanese invasions of the Dutch East Indies and the Philippines<\/strong>, in both cases territories with many islands, which greatly hindered the invaders' movements. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/05\/19\/ukraine-has-captured-almost-1300-russian-military-vehicles-in-12-weeks-of-invasion\/\">The huge Russian losses in the Ukraine<\/a> <strong>are unmatched by any of the invasions we have just reviewed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even if Russia had managed to take not just the whole of Ukraine, but even the city of Kiev, it would be a Pyrrhic victory due to the huge Russian losses. But it hasn't even been that way.<strong> Russia remains stuck, being forced to make enormous efforts to achieve very limited objectives and assuming losses that do not justify the insignificant results.<\/strong> That someone sees this invasion as a success and Putin as a great strategist can only be explained as a blindness to reality, the result of propaganda or fanaticism.<\/p>\n<p>---<\/p>\n<p><small>Photo: Sergey Bobok\/AFP.
