In this case, two planes that belonged to two Spanish airlines.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/04\/29\/davis-monthan-afb-a-bus-tour-of-the-worlds-largest-aircraft-graveyard\/\">Davis-Monthan AFB: A bus tour of the world\u2019s largest aircraft graveyard<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/05\/19\/an-atypical-graveyard-of-50-classic-cars-and-a-plane-in-the-middle-of-a-forest-in-germany\/\">An atypical graveyard of 50 classic cars and a plane in the middle of a forest in Germany<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>I recently came across this video from the YouTube channel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/ostasHu\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Osta5h<\/a>, dedicated to urban explorations in Romania:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vLRjbQLFhXI\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The first thing that caught my attention is <strong>the plane seen in the video preview, with the old decoration of the Spanish airline Iberia<\/strong>, with the red, orange and yellow stripes. But looking a little closer, I came across yet another surprise: <strong>the plane that can be seen in the background belongs to the old Spanish airline Aviaco<\/strong>, and it still has the last livery used by this company, which merged with Iberia in 1998.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52130271089_ddf50263a6_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although neither the video nor its description indicates where the images were recorded, doing some research I discovered that <strong>it is the Bucharest-B\u0103neasa Airport<\/strong>. Searching on <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/9jiKmVfP7Dwtmipg6\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Google Maps<\/a> I discovered that these planes are to the east of the terminal of said airport (there are more planes stored and without engines over there).<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d454.63368798409107!2d26.092935514863033!3d44.49647467375276!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x0%3A0x4a164b0805d197a9!2zNDTCsDI5JzQ3LjAiTiAyNsKwMDUnMzUuOSJF!5e1!3m2!1ses!2ses!4v1654634852555!5m2!1ses!2ses\" width=\"665\" height=\"450\" style=\"border:0;\" allowfullscreen=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here is a capture of the 3D view of Google Maps<\/strong> of the two Spanish planes. Aviaco's looks like a McDonnell Douglas DC-9, and Iberia's looks like a McDonnell Douglas MD-88. <strong>The Aviaco is already without wings and with half the fuselage removed<\/strong>, surely they are scrapping it there.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52130511280_06ec4d73b8_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the license plates of these old planes.<\/strong> Perhaps some of the pilots who flew them will see these lines.
