This Tuesday afternoon, a strong storm swept through NAVSTA Norfolk, the largest naval base in the world, causing serious damage to some aircraft.<\/p>\n

The aircraft were located at the Chambers Field air base<\/strong>, attached to the aforementioned naval base and which houses more than a hundred aircraft. A total of 17 US Navy squadrons are based at the base. Among them are units equipped with E-2 Hawkeye early warning aircraft, C-2 Greyhound transport aircraft, MH-53E Sea Dragon mine counter helicopters and MH-60S Knighthawk helicopters.<\/strong> Several of the latter two models were seriously damaged by the storm.
