After the invasion of Ukraine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/03\/19\/nato-publishes-the-figures-of-its-deployment-on-its-eastern-flank-in-the-face-of-the-russian-threat\/\">the Atlantic Alliance deployed another four battalions<\/a> in Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. <strong>Spain has been contributing for years to the battalion deployed in Latvia<\/strong>, with troops from the Army.<\/p>\n<p>The NATO battalion in Latvia, named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/eFPBGlatvia\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">eFP Battle Group Latvia<\/a>, is the most varied from the eight battalions deployed by the Alliance on its eastern flank. <strong>It is made up of personnel from Canada<\/strong> (which has command of the group), <strong>Albania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Iceland<\/strong> (which contributes civilian experts in communications, since that country does not have Armed Forces), <strong>Italy, Montenegro and Poland.<\/strong> Currently, most of the Spanish contingent is made up of personnel from the <strong>Brigada \"Guzm\u00e1n el Bueno\" X<\/strong> and the <strong>Logistical Support Group No. 21<\/strong> (AALOG 21).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Spanish contingent has Leopard 2E battle tanks<\/strong>, <strong>ASCOD Pizarro<\/strong> infantry fighting vehicles, <strong>M-113<\/strong> armored transports (in their versions mortar carriers and sappers), <strong>M-109<\/strong> self-propelled howitzers (this is the first time the Spanish Army has deployed them abroad) and <strong>M-548<\/strong> ammunition vehicles, in addition to of VAMTACs and other types of vehicles. <strong>Yesterday the eFP Battle Group Latvia published a video in which it exhibits its more than 200 vehicles<\/strong>, including the aforementioned Spanish military media:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"eFP Battle Group Latvia\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EooWk6nKm70?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>You can see below some screenshots of the video, with some comments.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52355571039_436d512dd0_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>An interesting image in which we see some of the vehicles of the Spanish contingent in Latvia.<\/strong> In the background we can see an M-109 self-propelled howitzer (along with a Polish PT-91 tank) and behind it a vehicle of ammunition M-548.
