The presentation included speeches by <strong>Kathy J. Warden<\/strong>, president of Northrop Grumman; <strong>Admiral Christopher W. Grady<\/strong>, Vice President of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces; and <strong>Lloyd J. Austin III<\/strong>, US Secretary of Defense. The presentation was made live from 02:00 CET through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@EdwardsAirForceBase\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">channel Edwards AFB YouTube<\/a>. You can see it here:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"B21 Raider Rollout Livestream\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/chJlJgrvfBY?start=1434&feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The broadcast began with the US Anthem, while <strong>three bombers flew over Edwards AFB, the predecessors of the B-21:<\/strong> a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, a Rockwell B-1B Lancer and a Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit. After Kathy J. Warden's speech,<strong> the hangar doors opened and this appeared:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52538280432_1d1f38e89d_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally, <strong>they discovered the canvas that covered the plane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52539039999_35573658ae_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The B-21 Raider has an external appearance very similar to the B-2<\/strong>, something that was already known from the conceptual drawings that have been disseminated about this aircraft. It has been suggested that <strong>the aircraft's nickname is a tribute to the airmen of the Doolittle Raid<\/strong>, the first US air raid against Japan on April 18, 1942 (its members were the \"Raiders\").<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52539295853_61884f229b_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The base crews have shown the B-21 Raider outside the hangar door<\/strong>, allowing us to observe it a bit, but not much. Could not see the profile of the wing or the back.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52538745231_e28f073cd1_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>In this enlargement we can see some unique details:<\/strong> more stylized air intakes than those of the B-2 and more aggressive-looking cockpit windows. However, everything indicates that it will be difficult to distinguish them from afar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52539039979_469025e05b_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the presentation, very little information was given about the plane: that <strong>it will have the capacity to drop conventional and nuclear bombs with great precision<\/strong> (something obvious, although the precision of nuclear bombs is rather irrelevant) . <strong>Its features and dimensions have not been disclosed.<\/strong> And after the speeches, the plane has been taken back to the hangar and the doors have been closed.
