As a Roman pontiff, he visited our country three times.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/12\/31\/farewell-to-benedict-xvi-a-great-pope-who-sent-us-this-warning-on-his-last-visit-to-spain\/\">Farewell to Benedict XVI: a great Pope who sent us this warning on his last visit to Spain<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>On his second journey to Spain, on November 6 and 7, 2010, <strong>Benedict XVI visited Santiago de Compostela for the Compostela Holy Year.<\/strong> There, on November 6, he officiated a solemn Mass in the Obradoiro Square.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52598673923_70a7eeffc8_o.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the Mass, <strong>the music unit and the choir of students from the Escuela Naval Militar de Mar\u00edn, the officers' academy of the Spanish Navy, sang the \"Salve Marinera\"<\/strong>, the hymn to the Virgin of Carmel, the patron saint of sailors.
