The sky was clear, except for some cloudy intervals in the vicinity of Gibraltar, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitma.es\/recursos_mfom\/1998_055_a.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the report about the accident (see PDF).<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The aircraft impacted with its right wing against a large rock at the top of the mountain<\/strong>, at a height of between 800 and 1,000 meters. The plane was face up, with the engine started about 20 meters from the fuselage. The plane was located around 8:50 a.m. the next day, along with the only survivor. <strong>Two of the three occupants died in the accident.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My favorite Youtube channel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@AventurasEntresierras\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aventuras Entresierras<\/a> (if you haven't subscribed yet, I'll I recommend that you do so), today he published <strong>an interesting video showing the crash site and the abundant remains of the plane that are still there:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"TR\u00c1GICO HALLAZGO en Sierra Bermeja: Accidente A\u00e9reo.\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QSNX7C1XpIE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>You can see here some captures of the video. <strong>The route begins in a wooded area with a peaceful aspect.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52794046254_d45d93c605_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The views of Sierra Bermeja are spectacular<\/strong>, but the appearance of the mountain is an announcement of what the rest of the way will be like.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52794046214_6682f3e6b3_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The end of the route is a mountaineer's nightmare<\/strong>, full of rocks and pebbles and no path to walk on normally.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52794046259_401842c09b_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>One of the first remains of the plane<\/strong> found by the explorers of Aventuras Entresierras.
