This Saturday, Oryxspioenkop<\/a>, an independent website that has been documenting the losses of both sides in this war since the beginning of the invasion, announced: \"Russia is now visually confirmed to have lost 10.000 vehicles and pieces of heavy weaponry since it began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022<\/strong>.\"<\/em> Those numbers include ground vehicles and weapon systems, air vehicles, and ships. As of today, Oryxspioenkop data indicates that Russia has already lost 10,009 military vehicles in Ukraine. Most significantly, a total of 2,834 vehicles, 28% of those lost by the Russians, have been captured by the Ukrainians.<\/strong> The total number of vehicles destroyed is 6,477, which must be add 304 damaged and 394 abandoned vehicles. These enormous losses have not even helped Russia to secure the objectives it set for itself when starting this invasion.<\/strong> In fact, Russian forces remain stagnant on all fronts, which makes it clear the failure of Putin's plans.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Losses of the Russian ground forces<\/big><\/p>\n

Aircraft losses leave Russian ground forces without air support<\/big><\/p>\n

Likewise, Russia has so far lost 79 fixed-wing aircraft<\/strong> (most of them fighter jets), 81 helicopters and 209 UAVs.<\/strong> These numbers explain the fact that Russia has drastically reduced its air operations in Ukraine for fear that its aircraft will be shot down by man-portable surface-to-air missiles, a type of weapon that is relatively cheap and which Western countries have supplied to the Ukrainians in large quantities. Russia's naval losses and their effects on the invasion<\/big><\/p>\n

In terms of naval power, the Russian Navy has lost 12 ships<\/strong>. The most serious loss was the missile cruiser \"Moskva\", sunk by the Ukrainians in April<\/a>.
