I don't usually dedicate an article to a single photo, but there are times when that image deserves its own entry, like the one you see here.<\/p>\n

From May 8 to 26, the Formidable Shield 2023 exercise will be held<\/strong> at the firing ranges of Andoya (Norway) and the Hebrides (United Kingdom), according to reported<\/a> the Spanish Navy last week. This is a multinational exercise whose purpose is \"to assess the capabilities of the participating nations, and demonstrate their interoperability, againstcomplex threats in realistic Air Defense and Anti-Missile scenarios<\/strong>.\".<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

A few days ago, DVIDS posted<\/a> a spectacular photo of this exercise, taken by a US Army officer. In the image we can see two F-100 frigates of the Spanish Navy<\/strong>, the \"\u00c1lvaro de Baz\u00e1n\" F-101 and the \"Blas De Lezo\" (F103). But there is something else (you can click on the image to see it enlarged).<\/p>\n

As you can see in this enlargement of the image, two Dassault Rafale fighters and an E-2C Hawkeye early warning aircraft from the French National Navy<\/strong> fly over the Spanish frigates. The aircraft are part of the air wing of the French aircraft carrier \"Charles de Gaulle\" R-91.<\/p>\n
