The exercise carried out by BRILAT has had the participation of the <strong>Mistral Battery of the VII Field Artillery Group (GACA VII)<\/strong> of the Brigade, and is part of the <strong>Adriatic Strike exercise 2023<\/strong>, developed between June 8 and 11 in various NATO countries.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52966384617_252bf1c976_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Spanish Army <a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/ejercitotierra\/52962516996\/in\/dateposted\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has published<\/a> three photos of this exercise, showing the deployment of <strong>an MBDA Mistral short-range surface-to-air missile launcher<\/strong> mounted on a Uro VAMTAC S-3.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52966983206_a09c909509_o.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The MBDA Mistral deploys quickly, being able to hit targets up to 5,300 meters away.<\/strong> Once fired, the missile reaches a top speed of Mach 2.6 (3,210 km\/h). <strong>It has an infrared guidance system<\/strong>, that is, it is oriented by the heat given off by the aircraft's engines, and it is designed to avoid lures in the form of flares. <strong>It has a warhead made of 2.95 high explosive with tungsten balls <\/strong>, which detonates by proximity.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52967123259_1c62b599d9_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A week ago, BRILAT exhibited this launcher at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/06\/10\/the-light-weapons-of-the-spanish-army-a-first-hand-review\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the exhibition of material that he carried out in the city of Pontevedra<\/a>.
