In Spain there are abandoned sites that have a curious relationship with the film industry, as we saw a few days ago.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday we saw a tunnel used in a famous Indiana Jones movie<\/a>, thanks to an interesting video posted by Aventuras Entresierras<\/a>, the best Spanish Youtube channel on urban exploration. Today, that same channel has published a new video showing us the Cortijo Grane aerodrome<\/strong>, in Turre (Almer\u00eda).<\/p>\n As reported by Javier Ortega Figueiral in the blog Las Gafas del Viajero<\/a> in July 2020, this airfield was built by two Americans, the brothers Ric and Paul Polansky<\/strong>, who came to Spain to avoid being sent to the Vietnam War. In the 1970s they made this airfield and a golf course. Steven Spielberg used the airfield in his films \"Empire of the Sun\" (1987) and \"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade\" (1989)<\/strong>, as the base of operations for the tunnel scene into which referred to the previous video of Aventuras Entresierras.<\/p>\n Today the airfield is abandoned and in ruins.<\/strong> You can see its exterior and interior, including the control tower, in the new video from Aventuras Entresierras<\/a>.
