{"id":52102,"date":"2023-06-20T07:02:33","date_gmt":"2023-06-20T05:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=52102"},"modified":"2023-06-22T23:38:21","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T21:38:21","slug":"twitter-censors-the-publication-of-some-vox-party-proposals-in-contando-estrelas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/06\/20\/twitter-censors-the-publication-of-some-vox-party-proposals-in-contando-estrelas\/","title":{"rendered":"Twitter censors the publication of some Vox party proposals in Contando Estrelas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The application of censorship to private media for defending totally legitimate ideas seemed like things of the past.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/06\/19\/facts-against-defamations-the-measures-that-vox-defends-to-protect-women-in-spain\/\">Facts against defamations: the measures that Vox defends to protect women in Spain<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/01\/12\/twitter-imposes-scandalous-censorship-on-reporting-a-russian-war-crime\/\">Twitter imposes scandalous censorship on reporting a Russian war crime<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>The censorship came years ago to social networks. <strong>Twitter was one of the companies that applied this censorship in the most brazen way, until the arrival of Elon Musk.<\/strong> The new owner promised to restore the freedom of expression lost on that social network, but <strong>we continue to witness censorship with a clear ideological motive.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday you could read in Counting Stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/06\/19\/facts-against-defamations-the-measures-that-vox-defends-to-protect-women-in-spain\/\">an article reproducing the proposals of the Vox party to combat violence against women<\/a>. These are proposals prepared by <strong>the third most voted political party in Spain, a democratic party<\/strong> and which defends its ideas by legal and peaceful means. As in any other entry in this blog, <strong>in this article neither violence nor hatred against anyone has been defended<\/strong>, but despite this, some have believed that these proposals should not reach the Spanish and they have imposed a censorship.<\/p>\n<p>This is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elentirvigo\/status\/1670728807400067072\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the post I made yesterday on Twitter<\/a> about that article in Contando Estrelas, the Spanish edition of this website:<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\" style=\"margin:10px 0 10px 0;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Hechos contra las difamaciones: las medidas que defiende Vox para proteger a las mujeres. <br \/>La respuesta de Santiago Abascal a la campa\u00f1a de mentiras contra Vox, una campa\u00f1a apoyada por los mismos que han beneficiado penalmente a cientos de violadores: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/U4xhtUmZrZ\">https:\/\/t.co\/U4xhtUmZrZ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Elentir \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddf8\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf1\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6 (@elentirvigo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elentirvigo\/status\/1670728807400067072?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>By clicking the link, <strong>many of you have come across this warning<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/safety\/unsafe_link_warning?unsafe_link=https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/06\/19\/hechos-contra-las-difamaciones-las-medidas-que-defiende-vox-para-proteger-a-las-mujeres\/\"\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">can be read here<\/a>, with versions in dozens of languages), also those who have clicked on the publications that others have made of the same article on their Twitter accounts:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52987409061_c33a3446ac_b.jpg\" style=\"width:661px; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0; border:2px solid #252525;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The warning states that \"this link may be unsafe\"<\/strong>, putting four points with possible causes to classify the article in Contando Estrelas as such, from <em>\"malicious links that could steal personal information\"<\/em> to <em>\"spammy links\"<\/em>, through <em>\"violent or misleading content\"<\/em> or any other <em>\"violation of the Twitter Rules\"<\/em>. <strong>Some false accusations that no other social network makes against this website.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Twitter not only censors Contando Estrelas, but also defames this website<\/strong>, in which all publications are made within the channels of the law and never include any type of appeal to hatred or to violence. With that infamous ad, <strong>Twitter makes the mere fact of disagreeing with certain ideas make you look like a criminal<\/strong>, something that is very reminiscent of the censorship that was imposed and continues to be imposed in totalitarian regimes.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the censorship of the link, <strong>Twitter has also censored the article in searches.<\/strong> It cannot be found either with the link or with the title. The most ironic thing is that they do this in the Spanish version, because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/06\/19\/facts-against-defamations-the-measures-that-vox-defends-to-protect-women-in-spain\/\">the English version has not been censored<\/a>, dealing with exactly the same message. Curiously, <strong>other articles on the blog have not been censored either.<\/strong> Apparently, someone must have been exclusively annoyed by the one that sent Vox's proposals to the Spanish public.<strong> It is a specific censorship against dissemination of a legal and legitimate message from the third most voted party in Spain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The most grotesque thing is that Twitter imposes this censorship on this blog while <strong>allowing terrorist states like Russia and Iran to continue making propaganda on that social network<\/strong>, openly justifying the atrocities committed by the Russian invaders against the Ukrainian people and the Iranian repressors against their own people. Let us remember that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/01\/12\/twitter-imposes-scandalous-censorship-on-reporting-a-russian-war-crime\/\">in January, Twitter already censored one of the accounts on this website for denouncing a Russian war crime<\/a>. A curious sense of freedom of expression: the regime that commits these crimes can justify them, but I get censored when I denounce one of those atrocities.
