Judging by the images, it could be the drill that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/112cmadrid\/status\/1670160682182930432\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">alerted some residents of Torrej\u00f3n on June 17<\/a>, when they saw the column of smoke generated by the controlled fire created by the firefighters over the air base.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bomberos de Torrej\u00f3n: &quot;Non quantum sed ubi&quot;\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uxkP9mvREhg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The video is very interesting for seeing the training of the firefighters at the Torrej\u00f3n Air Base, but also for the <strong>Boeing 707 that appears in the images, number 47 02<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53060813350_ef51ba14ed_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0; border:0px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This aircraft is <strong>one of the two Boeing 707s acquired by the Spanish Air Force in 1988 to replace their old Douglas DC-8s<\/strong>. Specifically, it is the T.17-02, a Boeing 707-331C built in 1964 and which <strong> was initially operated by the now-defunct American airline Trans World Airlines (TWA) <\/strong>. At that time it had the American civil serial N792TW.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53060813345_a2f8aa28d9_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0; border:0px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/kenfielding\/6054275926\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ken Fielding<\/a>, between 1980 the plane was leased to various airlines (Global International, Guinness Peat Aviation and Faucett Peru), returning to the TWA in February 1982. In 1984 it was sent to the <a href=\"\">Davis Monthan AFB aircraft graveyard<\/a>, where it was converted into a tanker prior to delivery to the Air Force in November 1988. <strong>The aircraft served in the 47th Mixed Air Force Group<\/strong>, serving as an in-flight refueling aircraft and troop transport.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53060612879_f50e4d94bd_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0; border:0px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fly-news.es\/aviacion-comercial\/aviones\/adios-al-boeing-707-del-ejercito-del-aire\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fly News<\/a> points out that <strong>the T.17-02 made its last operational flight with the Spanish Air Force on March 12, 2015<\/strong>. While another two of the four Boeing 707s operated by the 47 Group are stored at the Getafe Air Base, <strong>the T.17-02 has remained on the apron of the Torrej\u00f3n Air Base.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53060813265_257f2ec523_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0; border:0px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, <strong>the interior of the plane is quite well preserved<\/strong>. The exterior shows the typical discoloration of an aircraft that has been parked on a runway for eight years in the open, especially the red color of its cockades, but <strong>exteriorly it still appears to be in good condition<\/strong>.
