{"id":52494,"date":"2023-07-23T16:44:30","date_gmt":"2023-07-23T14:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=52494"},"modified":"2025-07-23T00:17:16","modified_gmt":"2025-07-22T22:17:16","slug":"these-are-the-soldiers-and-the-training-of-the-fgne-the-elite-unit-of-the-spanish-navy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/07\/23\/these-are-the-soldiers-and-the-training-of-the-fgne-the-elite-unit-of-the-spanish-navy\/","title":{"rendered":"These are the soldiers and the training of the FGNE, the elite unit of the Spanish Navy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Among its different special operations military groups, Spain has a unit equivalent to the famous United States Navy SEALs.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/03\/12\/elite-military-groups-from-spain-the-us-and-other-countries-in-a-training-in-africa\/\">Elite military groups from Spain, the US and other countries in a training in Africa<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/02\/27\/spanish-marine-infantry-the-units-that-make-it-up-and-their-material-resources\/\">Spanish Marine Infantry: the units that make it up and their material resources<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>This unit is <strong>the Special Naval Warfare Force (FGNE), created in 2009<\/strong> on the basis of two already existing groups: the Special Combat Divers Unit (UEBC, created in 1970) and the Special Operations Unit (UOE), created in 1966 and which for a few years (from 1985 to 1990) was known as COMANFES (Special Amphibious Command). <strong>The FGNE is integrated into the Joint Special Operations Command (MCOE) <\/strong>, which also includes the Army's Special Operations Command (MOE) and the Air Force's Parachute Sapper Squad (EZAPAC). <strong>The three units have the same distinctive garment: the green beret.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53065009850_6f4e79c35b_o.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">The green beret is the distinctive garment of the FGNE, and its emblem is made up of a 1941 model machete, two crossed anchors and the Royal Crown of Spain (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/armadamde\/32344724077\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Armada Espa\u00f1ola<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p><strong>The FGNE is based at the Algameca Naval Station, in Cartagena (Murcia).<\/strong> It is made up of a Command Group (COMNAVES), six Estoles (a Catalan word of medieval origin that gives its name to its combat units), a Vessel Unit and a Support Unit.
