Once again, Russia attacks the civilian population and destroys the historical, artistic and religious heritage of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\nRussia has attacked 59 temples and religious centers in Ukraine: this is how they remained<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

As reported by the Odessa City Council via its Telegram channel<\/a>, Tonight Russia attacked Odessa with at least 5 types of missiles<\/strong>: Caliber, Onyx, Kh-22 and Iskander-K and also Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to shoot down \"a significant part\" of the missiles, but some hit civilian targets, including the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa<\/strong>, as well as some port facilities and at least six residential buildings, including apartment buildings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Odessa City Council has reported that this Russian attack has killed one person and injured 19, including four children<\/strong>. Currently 11 adults and three children are hospitalized. Regarding material damage, the Odessa City Council has reported<\/a> that among the religious objects damaged by the attack is the icon of the Mother of God of Kasperov, the Patroness of Odessa<\/strong>, which was recovered from under the rubble. It is a work of art from the 16th century that was venerated in that temple. It is an icon that is considered miraculous.<\/p>\n

The attacked Cathedral was built between 1795 and 1808, and was looted and destroyed by Stalin's communist dictatorship in 1936.<\/strong> After the independence of Ukraine, in 1999, the reconstruction of this historic temple began. Paradoxically, the Cathedral belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate<\/strong>, a religious denomination directed from the Russian capital. Putin's regime does not even respect the temples of its own official church.<\/p>\n
