This Thursday, August 24, Ukraine celebrated its Independence Day and also 18 months of resistance against the Russian invasion.<\/p>\n

This was the capture by Ukraine of the '62 Red', a Russian helicopter Mi-8 AMTSh Terminator<\/a><\/rel>
\nThis will be the first 42 F-16 fighters that Ukraine will receive, their versions and their weapons<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

This invasion began on February 24, 2022 with an attempt by Russia to take kyiv<\/strong>, the capital of Ukraine, by storm. An attempt that was frustrated by the heroic Ukrainian resistance<\/strong>, which not only prevented the Russians from taking that city, but also ended up making the entire Russian offensive in northern Ukraine fail.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On August 24, it was customary for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to hold a large parade in kyiv<\/strong>. Pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovich suspended these parades between 2010 and 2014. The last parade was held in 2021, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence in 1991<\/strong>.
