The political and media scandal organized around Luis Rubiales is taking on a very serious aspect, but not because of what he did.<\/p>\n
S\u00e1nchez withdrew his political protection from Rubiales: why?<\/big><\/p>\n Of course, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has plenty of reasons to resign or be dismissed<\/strong>. Not because of the kiss in question, but -for example- because of ostentatiously touching his crotch from the executive box<\/a>, unacceptable behavior for his position. He has starred in scandals before <\/a> that have remained at all, it is worth asking if because he is a socialist and because of his friendship with Pedro S\u00e1nchez. A political protection that then freed him from resigning and is now denied him<\/strong> for something less relevant. Because? I will note a possible reason at the end.<\/p>\n A scandal fed directly from the government<\/big><\/p>\n The curious thing about the scandal that has been mounted over the kiss is that it has been fed directly from the government<\/strong>, both by Pedro S\u00e1nchez<\/a> and by Irene Montero<\/a> and Yolanda Diaz<\/a>. And it just so happens that this same government is facing something that should indeed be a scandal: its claim to bypass the Constitution to grant an amnesty<\/strong> to the perpetrators of the 2017 separatist coup and thus obtain the support of two parties that promoted this attempt to undermine the constitutional order.<\/p>\n The case of the famous Rubiales kiss is a matter that will be addressed by the National Court<\/a> (it is already in the hands of the Prosecutor's Office of that court). The judges will be the ones to determine if there was a crime or not. What should worry us the most in a democratic country is not that a guy like Rubiales presides over the RFEF (something that can be attributed to his friendship with S\u00e1nchez). It is much more alarming that there are unscrupulous people in the government<\/strong> than have not resigned or have even apologized for much more serious things<\/a>, and that are precisely those who are promoting this lynching against Rubiales.<\/p>\n A typical lynching of totalitarians<\/big><\/p>\n I use the word \"lynching\" because this case conforms to the meaning that the Royal Spanish Academy gives to the verb lynch<\/a>: \"Executing without trial and riotously a suspect or prisoner<\/strong>\"<\/em>. This type of lynching served to catapult the \"Me Too\" feminist movement, which the left now intends to emulate in Spain with the same characteristics as yesterday: popular and media trials in which the presumption of innocence of the accused is trampled on<\/strong> and is sentenced without waiting for the Justice to pass sentence or even disqualifying a non-conviction sentence. And it is that even if the defendant is declared innocent, it is already impossible to repair the damage done by that lynching.<\/strong><\/p>\n This should not happen in a democracy. Behavior like this is characteristic of totalitarians.<\/strong> And it is no coincidence that precisely two of the promoters of this lynching, the aforementioned ministers Irene Montero and Yolanda D\u00edaz, are communists, and that Pedro S\u00e1nchez is a socialist who he is very comfortable with the extreme left. They do not mind trampling on the procedural guarantees of a democracy because they do not mind trampling on democracy itself<\/strong>, as the S\u00e1nchez government has already demonstrated with its constant attacks on judicial independence and its violations of fundamental rights.<\/p>\n The double standards of a government that favors criminals<\/big><\/p>\n It is curious to observe, by the way, that these lynchings dictated by the powers that be do not occur against serious threats<\/strong>, but are directed against characters in whom they only see the opportunity, due to their celebrity status, to gain greater notoriety for the process, regardless of whether they are guilty or innocent. Criminals already convicted of more serious causes have been favored by this government in various ways:<\/strong><\/p>\n The alleged recordings of Rubiales to members of the government<\/big><\/p>\n We are witnessing an infamous manipulation in which the same government that has called for the \"removal of justice\" of the 2017 separatist coup<\/a>, one of the most serious attacks on democracy in Spain since the 1981 coup, has now launched to prosecute a kiss<\/strong>, filing a complaint against him<\/a>. The same government that is contacting a fugitive from Justice, Carles Puigdemont, who is accused by the leader of the aforementioned separatist coup, to offer him an amnesty in exchange for his parliamentary support. How do you explain such a shameless and indecent double standard?<\/strong><\/p>\n
