Rowling<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/02\/24\/the-cumbrian-cave-that-belonged-to-the-famous-tales-writer-beatrix-potter\/\">The Cumbrian cave that belonged to the famous tales writer Beatrix Potter<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>With the advent of artificial satellites, which allowed us to observe and photograph the entire surface of the Earth, the idea spread that the world had exhausted all its possibilities for modern explorers. <strong>In 1991, a local from Qu\u1ea3ng B\u00ecnh province, in central Vietnam, discovered the entrance to a cave.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53149208438_4937acb91c_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">The interior of Son Doong Grotto (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/es\/fotos\/facU72FcKBI\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Burka<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>Years later, this Vietnamese man reported his discovery to a group of members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bcra.org.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">British Cave Research Association ( BCRA)<\/a> that were touring that area. Finally, <strong>this group was able to explore the cave for several days in April 2009<\/strong>, encountering one of the greatest natural wonders in the world.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53148135722_a8422cc23c_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">An image of the river that runs through the interior of the cave (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osobennov.ru\/puteshestvija\/samaya-bolshaya-peshhera-v-mire-hang-son-doong-vo-vetname\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Osobennov.ru<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>What those British explorers saw was somewhat surprising: <strong>a colossal grotto with a length of more than 5 kilometers, 150 meters wide and a height of 200 meters<\/strong>. The volume of this cave is 1.6 million cubic meters, which makes it <strong>the largest cavern in the world.<\/strong> It is crossed by a river and inside there are some of the largest stalactites that are known, of more than 70 meters of height.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53148918139_4e8b2efeed_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">An impressive photo of the interior of the cave at night, in January 2015 (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/oxalisadventure\/51048741057\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oxalis Adventure<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>Despite its recent discovery, <strong>this cave could be up to 5 million years old, and inside there is a small jungle<\/strong>.
