On November 2, All Souls' Day is celebrated and the Spanish Armed Forces celebrate their Day of the Fallen for the Homeland.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of this day, there are in Spain acts of homage to the Fallen in different cemeteries of different religious denominations, and acts of tribute are also held in Spanish military detachments abroad. You can see some of the events held today here.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honor demanded it and they obeyed,
\nThe duty required them and they complied with it;
\nWith their blood they signed the company,
\nWith their effort the Homeland was enlarged.<\/p>\n

They were big and strong, because they were
\nFaithful to the oath they pledged.
\nThat's why, how brave they fought,
\nAnd as heroes they died.<\/p>\n

For the Homeland to die was their destiny,
\nloving Spain, their eternal passion,
\nserve in the Armies, their vocation and fate.<\/p>\n

They did not want to serve another Flag,
\nThey did not want to walk another way,
\nThey did not know how to live otherwise.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
