Permanent mobilization against the greatest betrayal." A betrayal embodied in the amnesty that the government is preparing for separatists prosecuted for all kinds of crimes, including terrorism crimes. We are facing a direct attack on the rule of law with the sole purpose of ensuring Sánchez's reelection.

Anti-amnesty protests to come

In recent weeks, Spain has already experienced significant protests against this betrayal of democracy. On October 8 there was important demonstrations in Barcelona and Seville and on October 29 a massive protest in the Plaza de Colón in Madrid. In the coming weeks, these large demonstrations will continue: on November 12 there will be one in Barcelona and on the 18th one in Madrid, convened by civic organizations. Yesterday's protest in front of the PSOE headquarters, with a smaller influx, also has its role in that "permanent mobilization" that Vox points out, and will be repeated next Monday.

New protests in front of PSOE headquarters for Monday, November 6

The Revuelta youth association, which was one of the associations that supported the demonstration on October 29 in the Plaza de Colón, has called for new protests in front of PSOE headquarters for November 6. You can see below these lines the posters of these calls published yesterday by that association.

In Madrid, the protest will be in front of the national headquarters of the PSOE, at 70 Ferraz Street, at 8:00 p.m. (Metro Argüelles). The message that the government transmits with this strong police cordon is evident: Sánchez is surely afraid that his betrayal of the rule of law could cause a social outbreak, which would be a foreseeable effect in the face of a measure that grants privileges to government partners in exchange for their support.

In case there was any doubt, the government's fear of protests was expressed yesterday in one of the pro-government media, the socialist newspaper El País, which has been playing the role of unofficial spokesperson for the PSOE for decades. While the government promises impunity to all kinds of separatist criminals, El País had no better idea than to try to intimidate those who protest against the government through a message on Twitter announcing possible sanctions for not having formally communicated the concentration.

At the time of writing these lines, El País' message has already received more than 700 responses, some of them asking if the violent demonstrations by the separatists that the PSOE wants to amnesty had been formally communicated.

The socialists have awakened a sleeping giant

The problem for the socialists is that they have announced a measure that would create a new caste of privileged people, who are granted impunity for having broken the laws. But in a democracy, if the law is not equal for everyone, then it loses all its moral force, becoming a mere tool of repression that the government uses in a purely arbitrary manner. Right now, the anger of millions of Spaniards against this abuse is much greater than the fear of possible reprisals for protesting against it. With this attack on our rule of law, in the belief that it would not cause so much rejection, the socialists have awakened a sleeping giant and made him furious.

---

Photo: @LevanteEsp.
