The pact signed by the PSOE with the Junts separatists<\/a> has brought the majority judicial associations of Spain into agreement.<\/p>\n

\nStatement of the General Council of the Judiciary of Spain against the amnesty: it is \u201ca serious violation of fundamental rights\u201d<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

An hour ago, the majority organization, the Professional Association of the Judiciary (APM)<\/strong>, spread a statement<\/a> signed by that organization, by the Francisco de Vitoria Judicial Association<\/strong>, by Judges and Judges for Democracy<\/strong> (a related organization to the PSOE and which traditionally subscribes to everything that party does) and by the Independent Judicial Forum<\/strong>. Given the document signed by PSOE and Junts to facilitate the investiture, the signatory judicial associations show our rejection of the references to \"lawfare or judicialization of politics\" and its consequences<\/strong>. The text of the agreement reached contains explicit references to the possibility of developing investigative commissions in parliamentary headquarters in order to determine the presence of situations of judicialization of politics, with the consequences that, where appropriate, could give rise to liability actions or modifications. legislative.<\/p>\n

This could mean, in practice, subjecting judicial procedures and decisions to parliamentary review with evident interference in judicial independence and bankruptcy of the separation of powers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Judges must be subject only to the rule of law<\/strong>, since this is expressly established in article 117.1 of the Constitution.<\/p>\n

These expressions, insofar as they reveal any distrust in the functioning of the Judiciary, are not acceptable.<\/strong> The Judiciary in Spain is independent, does not act under political pressure and has a system of jurisdictional guarantees that separates the risk that is pointed out.<\/p>\n
