military who are celebrating this Christmas far away from home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Christmas is the family holiday par excellence, but many Spanish soldiers will celebrate these holidays very far from their homes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>These lines are dedicated to the 3,000 Spanish military who are currently deployed abroad<\/strong>, very far from their loved ones, serving Spain, in the following places:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The members of the <strong>XXXVII Antarctic Campaign of the Spanish Army<\/strong> and the civilian scientists who accompany them, who already <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Antartica_ET\/status\/1738323189975994558\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">this week they left for Argentina<\/a>, heading to Antarctica.<\/li>\n<li>The sailors of the <strong>Navy ships<\/strong> that are at sea.<\/li>\n<li>The soldiers deployed in <strong>Operation enhanced Forward Presence (eFP)<\/strong> in <strong>Latvia<\/strong>, in the eFP XIV contingent.<\/li>\n<li>The soldiers deployed in <strong>Romania<\/strong> with the Tigru Detachment, in the Reinforced Air Surveillance (eAP) mission.<\/li>\n<li>Military personnel deployed in NATO's <strong>Operation Support Turkey<\/strong> at Incirlik Air Base.<\/li>\n<li>The military deployed in <strong>Operation Inherent Resolve<\/strong> in <strong>Iraq<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The airmen and sailors assigned to <strong>Operation Atalanta<\/strong> in <strong>Djibouti<\/strong> and the <strong>Indian Ocean<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The military deployed in <strong>Lebanon<\/strong> in <strong>Operation Free Hidalgo<\/strong> with UNIFIL.<\/li>\n<li>The soldiers deployed in the <strong>EUTM Mozambique<\/strong> mission in that African country.<\/li>\n<li>The soldiers deployed in the <strong>EUTM Somalia<\/strong> mission.<\/li>\n<li>The soldiers deployed in the <strong>EUTM Mali<\/strong> operation, in Bamako and Koulikoro.<\/li>\n<li>The soldiers deployed in the <strong>Central African Republic<\/strong> within the framework of the <strong>EUTM RCA<\/strong> operation, in Bangui.<\/li>\n<li>The military deployed in <strong>Senegal<\/strong>, on a support mission to Mali.<\/li>\n<li>The military assigned to the UN Mission in <strong>Colombia<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<li>The soldiers assigned to <strong>EUFOR Operation Althea<\/strong> in <strong>Bosnia-Herzegovina<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I also want to remember <strong>other people who will spend these days serving Spain, their respective countries and their peers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Ukrainian soldiers who are in Spain<\/strong>, training with Spanish personnel in order to return to their country to fight against the Russian invasion.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>diplomatic personnel<\/strong>, the <strong>military attach\u00e9s<\/strong> and <strong>agents of the National Police<\/strong> deployed in the different <strong>Embassies, Consulates and other delegations of Spain in the foreigner<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The military on guard<\/strong> in barracks, ships, air and naval bases, air control centers, air surveillance squadrons and in military hospitals, and also <strong>the military from other countries stationed in Spain<\/strong> strong>, in different military bases and in diplomatic delegations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The agents of the National Police Corps, the Civil Guard and the Spanish local and regional police forces, and also the police forces and border guards of other countries<\/strong> who are on duty watching in the streets, in the roads, in our mountains, ports, airports and customs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The health personnel and the staff of the nursing homes<\/strong>, who ensure our health and take care of our sick and elderly people.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Firefighters and Civil Protection service personnel<\/strong> who are on call these days, awaiting any emergency and even saving lives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>All the civilians who work these days<\/strong>, taking care of our infrastructure and transportation, providing basic services to our society, and also prison officials.<\/li>\n<li>And as always, with special affection, I also remember <strong>the missionaries, priests, military chaplains, religious and cooperators<\/strong>, who help those most in need, care for the sick, give spiritual assistance to our soldiers and watch over us with your prayers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before finishing, <strong>I want to send a memory and a hug to the families of the military who died this year<\/strong>, especially to the families of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/12\/21\/two-spanish-soldiers-of-the-land-army-die-during-an-exercise-in-cerro-muriano\/\">the two members of the Spanisg Army who died this week<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p>I wish you a good night with that which is your second family, the one that accompanies you day by day in the performance of your duties. <strong>Thank you all and a big
