Well, <strong>due to both wind and water erosion<\/strong>, both in the aforementioned fairy chimneys and in the lands themselves, which are made of sandstone (photo source: <a href=\"https:\/\/pxhere.com\/en\/photo\/694603\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PXHere.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51862306656_be145905b5_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The peculiarity is that <strong>Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah Wilderness is an important dinosaur site.<\/strong> In fact, it was explored for the first time in 1921 by paleontologist Charles Hazelius Sternberg (1850-1943). In fact, <strong>this place gave its name to a type of dinosaur, the Ahshislepelta<\/strong>, a huge herbivore found at this site (photo by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/mypubliclands\/9504194252\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bureau of Land Management<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51862389148_de312fe12a_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>In May 1992, the area was declared a protected site<\/strong>, a demarcation that covers 26.5 square kilometers in this area.
