Some historical data<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>This Tuesday, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, <strong>174 new police vehicles were presented for the Canary Islands Police Headquarters<\/strong>, which were unloaded in the port and lined up on the docks. You can see here <strong>a video published by the National Police that shows the unloaded vehicles<\/strong> with all the lights on:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Presentaci\u00f3n veh\u00edculos en Canarias\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v4HUNLurhbY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.policia.es\/_es\/comunicacion_prensa_detalle.php?ID=16071\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the press releases published by the National Police<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interior.gob.es\/opencms\/es\/detalle\/articulo\/El-director-general-de-la-Policia-presenta-174-nuevos-vehiculos-policiales-que-prestaran-servicio-en-Canarias\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Ministry of the Interior<\/a>, the new vehicles are divided into three groups:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>81 of the plug-in hybrid SUV vehicles intended for patrolling<\/strong>, with the ZERO label and purchased with European funds for an amount of 3,233,325 euros.<\/li>\n<li><strong>30 ZETA type SUV vehicles (as the CNP calls the vehicles intended for the protection of property and people and maintenance of public order) with a microhybrid engine<\/strong> and ECO label, which have meant an investment of 953,016.90 euros.<\/li>\n<li><strong>63 vehicles intended for other services<\/strong>, which have been financed one hundred percent from the European PRTR funds for an amount of 1,940,085 euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53513172386_d99c07a041_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although neither the National Police nor the Ministry of the Interior have indicated the models, <strong>in the images you can see Citro\u00ebn C5 Aircross SUV<\/strong> (probably the Plug-in Hybrid 225 model, judging by what the notes indicate press), a model capable of reaching a maximum speed of 225 km\/h. <strong>The 81 plug-in hybrids would be of this model.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53513610640_699c76a8a3_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>In the images you can also see Nissan Qashqai J12 SUV<\/strong>, third generation. Surely the 30 ZETA-type SUV vehicles correspond to that hybrid model, with a maximum speed of 196 km\/h.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53513356328_c7b37bc919_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These vehicles arrive at a time when <strong>the Canary Islands are suffering an unprecedented wave of illegal immigration<\/strong>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/es.statista.com\/estadisticas\/1040021\/entradas-de-inmigrantes-ilegales-en-canarias-por-via-maritima\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">almost 40,000 illegal immigrants arriving there in 2023<\/a>, more than double that of 2022.
