This model was nicknamed \"Dumbo\" in the Spanish Air Force. <strong>The first of them arrived at the Zaragoza Air Base in December 1973.<\/strong> This model has been replaced by the larger and more modern Airbus A400M Atlas. <\/p>\n<p><strong>To date, Spain has sold four of its old Hercules:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2021\/01\/04\/la-fuerza-aerea-uruguaya-conserva-en-sus-kc-130-un-recuerdo-de-su-pasado-espanol\/\">two KC-130H to Uruguay<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2021\/02\/16\/asi-han-recibido-y-bendecido-en-peru-a-los-dos-kc-130h-hercules-vendidos-por-espana\/\">another two KC-130H to Peru <\/a>. I do not know if there are plans to sell the rest of the fleet, but <strong>one of the C-130H will remain in Spain, the T.10-03 (31-03)<\/strong>, which is already in the Museo del Aire de Cuatro Vientos, in Madrid. Yesterday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@flybywire-aviation\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fly By Wire Aviation<\/a> <strong>published a video showing the interior of this plane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lockheed C-130 Hercules T-10 (31-03)\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aHjOED61sMM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>This plane arrived in Spain on March 12, 1974 and made its last flight on December 29, 2020<\/strong>, from the Zaragoza Air Base to the Cuatro Vientos Aerodrome. This photo was published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/museodeaeronauticayastronautica\/posts\/pfbid0tCLJVEpxtrygWLp9tyzaeuas5Dv4JuxUjv15HnER3rzE2nKhfxnk246vs4HupMel\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Museum of Aeronautics and Astronautics<\/a> showing the landing of T.10-03 at its current destination:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53521543590_78942de899_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/museodeaeronauticayastronautica\/posts\/pfbid0tCLJVEpxtrygWLp9tyzaeuas5Dv4JuxUjv15HnER3rzE2nKhfxnk246vs4HupMel\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">In 2020, the Museum recounted<\/a> <strong>the incident that this plane took part in on November 15, 1988:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\"During a normal operation, while the device was gaining altitude after taking off from the Zaragoza Air Base, <strong>it collided with the McDonell Douglas EF-18<\/strong> registration CE. 15-4 that was on approach. In the impact <strong>the Hercules lost an external piece of a wing<\/strong> and the Hornet ended the incident with damage to a wing. <strong>Both planes managed to land in Zaragoza<\/strong> without consequences for their crews.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After that accident, <strong>the plane was sent to the United States to <em>\"act as a prototype for the modernization and homogenization of the entire Spanish fleet,\"<\/strong><\/em> says the Museum. Having already completed 46 years of service in Spain, <strong>the T.10-03 returned from its last mission on November 23, 2020 with a flight from Afghanistan and the Middle East<\/strong>, and was one of the protagonists of the farewell ceremony for this model held at the Zaragoza Air Base on December 21, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53521279493_0a7a80bdbc_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once in Cuatro Vientos, <strong>the T.10-03 had its wings, stabilizers and drift removed to take it overland to the museum<\/strong>, where it arrived on March 23, 2023, as an example This photo published that day by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/aamaSpain\/posts\/pfbid02hrWP1VrSxeJUyCfuAWDfsgAop9ePQnascoNHewMByvsNCwhCw69QNgj7rRGMxNRxl\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Association of Friends of the Air Museum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53520221052_2465e42bca_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@flybywire-aviation\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fly By Wire Aviation<\/a> was kind enough to send me some photos of this aircraft in its current state. <strong>On these lines we see it already assembled and in the museum<\/strong>.
