Its presence in Poland is due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/02\/03\/la-aportacion-espanola-al-gran-ejercicio-de-la-otan-para- send-a-strong-message\/\">exercise Steadfast Defender 2024<\/a>, the largest maneuvers carried out by NATO since the Cold War.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53544134755_35d39b49b5_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As reported by the Polish military newspaper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polska-zbrojna.pl\/home\/articleshow\/41219?t=Mocny-sygnal-od-NATO\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Polska Zbrojna<\/a>, <strong>Spanish military vehicles arrived aboard the Ro-Ro ship \"Blue Wave Harmony\"<\/strong>. This ship set sail on February 12 from Motril, in Spain, and made a stopover on Friday night at the British port of Falmouth, from where it continued its journey to Poland the following morning, arriving in Szczecin around 8:00 p.m. yesterday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/Utgap\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vesselfinder.com<\/a>. Shortly before the arrival of the ship, <strong>the Spanish soldiers arrived at the Szczecin-Goleni\u00f3w Airport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53543881248_4e3fb73b30_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Spanish contingent includes Leopard 2E battle tanks, ASCOD Pizarro infantry combat vehicles<\/strong>, M-113 armored transports, a Leopard 2ER B\u00fafalo recovery vehicle, Uro VAMTAC S-3 and ST-5 tactical vehicles, Santana An\u00edbal SUVs, Iveco-Pegaso M.250 trucks and an Iveco 40.10WM 4\u00d74 ambulance, among other vehicles.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53543703851_e93db5daf9_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pap.pl\/aktualnosci\/brilliant-jump-2024-oddzialy-nato-na-cwiczeniach-w-polsce-nasze-wideo\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Polish News Agency (PAP)<\/a> has reported that <strong>the Spanish contingent is destined for the Drawsko Pomorskie maneuvering field<\/strong>, in the West Pomeranian voivodeship, northwest of Poland, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NATOJFCBS\/status\/1760284735895433565\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">where the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade of the Polish Army<\/a>, equipped with Leopard 2A5 tanks, is already deployed, as reported today by NATO's Brunssum Joint Command.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53543881338_a94edba78b_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>\"<strong>We train very hard to become certified, to participate in these maneuvers and to be at the disposal of NATO<\/strong>\"<\/em>, Lieutenant Colonel Julio Su\u00e1rez Carrasco has declared to the PAP agency. <strong>This phase of the Steadfats Defender exercise is called Brilliant Jump 24<\/strong> and will bring together 3,000 soldiers and about 700 vehicles from several countries in Drawsko Pomorskie. <strong>Most of the continent is made up of British, Polish and Spanish soldiers<\/strong>, but the participation of Albanian and Turkish soldiers is also expected. Furthermore, in the images released by PAP you can see German soldiers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53544026879_3242d60d90_o.png\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Polska Zbrojna has indicated that <strong>this exercise will take place until the end of February<\/strong>, and then the participating units will be under the command of the commander of the 11th Lubusz Armored Cavalry Division and <strong>will join \"Dragon 2024\"<\/strong>the largest military exercise scheduled by the Polish Army for this year. <em>\"<strong>Together with others they will head towards the eastern flank<\/strong>, crossing among other things the Vistula River,\"<\/em> notes the Polish military newspaper.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53544134750_c7f1b4d423_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to Polska Zbrojna, <strong>the transfer to Drawsko Pomorskie is done in two ways:<\/strong> armored vehicles go by train and the rest of the vehicles go by road. <strong>This year it is expected that some 30,000 soldiers will pass through that Polish maneuver field<\/strong> due to this large NATO exercise. In total, the Steadfast Defender 24 exercise is planned to bring together some 90,000 soldiers from 31 Alliance member countries and Sweden.
