Many Putinists try to win over supporters on the right by claiming that Putin is conservative and a defender of traditional values.<\/p>\n
Putin's regime and its winks to the extreme left<\/big><\/p>\n Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine I already explained here the policies of the Putin regime to prevent criticism of communism in Russia<\/a> and his support for the extreme left in the West<\/a >, the same extreme left that promotes anti-Christian and pro-abortion policies. Even so, there are people on the right (a minority) who allow themselves to be fooled by Russian propagandists<\/strong> and who continue to see Putin as a conservative.<\/p>\n In 2011, Putin's party passed an abortion law.<\/big><\/p>\n One wonders if these people know Russian law. On November 1, 2011<\/strong>, the Duma (the Parliament of the Russian Federation), which has been controlled for years by Putin's party, United Russia<\/strong> (in the 2008 elections there were obtained 71.25% of the votes), approved the call<\/strong> Federal Law of November 21, 2011 N 323-FZ<\/a> \"On the fundamentals of health protection of citizens in the Russian Federation\"<\/em>. You can read its official text in the Rossiyskaya Gazeta here<\/a>, the official newspaper of the Russian government in which the laws of that country are published.<\/p>\n A legal drain to abort up to the 22nd week of pregnancy<\/big><\/p>\n As a curiosity, this law regulates abortion in Russia<\/strong> but the word \"abortion\" does not appear anywhere in its text. Instead, Putin's party used the pro-abortion euphemism \"artificial termination of pregnancy\"<\/strong> to refer to that atrocity. This is what Article 56.1, point 1 says:<\/p>\n \"Each woman decides independently on the issue of motherhood. Artificial termination of pregnancy is carried out at the request of the woman<\/strong> with informed voluntary consent.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n That same article allows abortion up to 12 weeks<\/strong>, stating the following:<\/p>\n \"The artificial termination of pregnancy at the woman's request<\/strong> is carried out at a gestational age of up to twelve weeks<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n In addition, it includes point 4 that introduces a legal loophole that allows abortion up to the 22nd week of pregnancy for \"social reasons\":<\/p>\n \"The artificial termination of pregnancy for social reasons is carried out at a gestational age of up to twenty-two weeks<\/strong>, and in the presence of medical indications, regardless of the gestational age.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n A law very similar to the one made by the socialist Zapatero in Spain<\/big><\/p>\n Thus, Putin's abortion law is very similar to<\/strong> the Zapateto abortion law<\/a>, approved by a socialist government and supported by the extreme left.Spanish law allows killing unborn children without any restriction until week 14 of pregnancy<\/strong>or until week 22 in case the unborn child is disabled, for example. With its legal loophole to allow abortion for \"social reasons\", Putin's abortion law fails to protect unborn children even more than the Spanish law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n 506,000 abortions carried out in Russia in 2020<\/big><\/p>\n It should be noted that the number of abortions has decreased considerably in Russia since communism, but it has been mainly due to a loss of population of childbearing age caused largely by the abortion laws of the communist dictatorship<\/strong> , in force until the aforementioned 2011 law: between 1994 and 2007 Russia lost 5 million inhabitants<\/a>. Even today, abortion is still very common in Russia. To give us an idea, in 2022 506,000 abortions were carried out in Russia<\/a>. That year 98,316 abortions were perpetrated in Spain<\/a>. In proportion to its population, Russia (13.1) almost doubles Spain's abortion rate (7.5)<\/strong> per 1,000 women.<\/p>\n Putin ignores request to ban abortion in Russia<\/big><\/p>\n So far, Putin has turned a deaf ear to those who oppose abortion. For example, in September 2016, Cyril I of Moscow, Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, called for a total ban on abortion in Russia<\/a>. Putin did not heed their request.<\/strong> In 2021, he limited himself to approve a plan<\/a> to convince women not to have abortions, especially because of the serious demographic decline that Russia is suffering, but nothing more.
