In the midst of farmers' protests in several European countries, the European Parliament has dealt a new blow to the primary sector.<\/p>\n
Today the European Parliament has approved the so-called \"nature restoration law\". The approved text can be read here. <\/a> One of the biggest controversies of this law refers to the fact that it requires the removal of barriers from rivers, so many reservoirs could be demolished in its application<\/strong>, with the consequent damage to the water supply and the agricultural sector that needs it so much.<\/p>\n Regarding the approval of this law, Vox Europa has noted<\/a>: \"By 54 votes we have not managed to overthrow the crazy nature restoration law, which will destroy our dams and take our production to Asia and Africa.<\/strong> But in the EPP<\/em> [European People's Party ] 25 voted in favor, 27 did not vote and 10 abstained. It was so easy for us!\"<\/em><\/p>\n This controversial law has come forward mainly due to the support of the left, but also due to the division in the European People's Party<\/strong>. The voting results can be consulted here<\/a> (point 9). The law has been approved with 329 votes in favor, 275 against and 24 abstentions<\/a>.
