{"id":55043,"date":"2024-03-04T20:19:51","date_gmt":"2024-03-04T19:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=55043"},"modified":"2026-03-04T00:33:31","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T23:33:31","slug":"this-is-one-of-the-classic-aircraft-exhibitions-of-the-fundacion-infante-de-orleans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/03\/04\/this-is-one-of-the-classic-aircraft-exhibitions-of-the-fundacion-infante-de-orleans\/","title":{"rendered":"This is one of the classic aircraft exhibitions of the Fundaci\u00f3n Infante de Orle\u00e1ns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few weeks ago <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/02\/16\/the-beechcraft-c-45-twin-beech-of-the-fio-a-jewel-of-spanish-aviation-from-1942\/\">I told you here about the Infante de Orle\u00e1ns Foundation (FIO)<\/a>, founded in 1989 and which has 40 historic aircraft.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/02\/16\/the-beechcraft-c-45-twin-beech-of-the-fio-a-jewel-of-spanish-aviation-from-1942\/\">The Beechcraft C-45 Twin Beech of the FIO, a jewel of Spanish aviation from 1942<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/02\/10\/a-walk-through-the-interior-of-the-spanish-c-130h-hercules-of-the-cuatro-vientos-air-museum\/\">A walk through the interior of the Spanish C-130H Hercules of the Cuatro Vientos Air Museum<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p><strong>The peculiarity of the FIO airplanes is that they are fit to fly.<\/strong> The Foundation holds exhibitions with these airplanes on the first Sunday of each month, except in January and August, at the Cuatro Vientos airfield, in Madrid. <strong>Yesterday the FIO exhibition for the month of March took place<\/strong>, in which, due to the strong wind, not all the planes could take off, although on the ground some of the jewels that the Foundation keeps in flight could be seen, <strong>including airplanes from the time of the Spanish Civil War , such as the Polikarpov I-16 \"Rata\"<\/strong> (it is one of only five aircraft of this type still flying around the world), <strong>the Polikarpov Po-2 and the B\u00fccker B\u00fc-131 Jungmann<\/strong> (the most numerous military aircraft that Spain has had: 580 units).<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition also showed aircraft from later eras, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/02\/16\/the-beechcraft-c-45-twin-beech-of-the-fio-a-jewel-of-spanish-aviation-from-1942\/\">the Beechcraft C-45 Twin Beech that we saw here recently<\/a> or the <strong>North American T-6 Texan<\/strong> which heads this entry.
