Currently, 300 soldiers and about 90 vehicles from the Spanish Army are deployed in Poland in the Steadfast Defender 2024 exercise.<\/p>\n

This exercise is the largest organized by NATO since the Cold War.<\/strong> Spain contributes to these maneuvers troops from the \"Guzm\u00e1n el Bueno\" X Brigade, the Logistics Brigade (BRILOG) and the Transmission Regiment No. 1 (RT 1). During this deployment, Jackie Faye Burton of the U.S. European Command, has done an interview with David, driver of a Spanish Leopard 2E main battle tank<\/strong> of the \"C\u00f3rdoba\" Armored Regiment No. 10, part of the \"Guzm\u00e1n el Bueno\" X Brigade. In this interview, David explains his motivations for being a soldier and also recognizes that he has a fun job.<\/strong> One of the things that has caught my attention the most about this interview is that this Spanish soldier states having reached 85 km\/h with his Leopard 2E<\/strong>, something surprising, since theoretically the maximum speed of this 62.5-ton armored vehicle is 70 km\/h. David also points out that after driving his tank for a week, when he takes his car he usually stalls 3 or 4 times <\/strong>, until he remembers that he is no longer driving a tank (the video is in Spanish, you can activate the automatic English subtitles in the bottom bar of the player):<\/p>\n
