The left and its separatist allies have approved the amnesty law in Congress today, a clearly unconstitutional law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nStatement of the General Council of the Judiciary of Spain against the amnesty: it is \u201ca serious violation of fundamental rights\u201d<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

The PSOE applauds a measure that it described as unconstitutional until a few months ago<\/big><\/p>\n

The Congress of Deputies has approved this law that violates judicial independence and equality before the law, by granting criminal privileges to the government's allies while ignoring<\/strong>and by attempting to create commissions to bring politicians who committed serious crimes subject the judges in charge of prosecuting those crimes to questioning.<\/p>\n

The PSOE celebrated its approval with applause<\/strong> and standing up. They celebrated like this a measure that S\u00e1nchez and his ministers described as unconstitutional<\/a> before the general elections of July 2023, when they went from opposing the amnesty to supporting it out of pure convenience <\/strong>, for simple and pure partisan interest. <\/p>\n

An unprecedented rejection by the institutions<\/big><\/p>\n

This law has been approved ignoring the warning of the General Council of the Judiciary, which indicated that it is \"a serious violation of fundamental rights\"<\/em><\/a> and that implies \"arrogating powers that the Constitution entrusts to the Courts\"<\/em>. Let us also remember the complaint of more than 1,300 judges indicating that this amnesty means \"blowing up the rule of law\"<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

This law has received a unprecedented rejection from all types of institutions<\/a>, including 11 autonomous governments, the Supreme Court, the 17 Superior Courts of Justice, the 4 largest associations of judges and all associations of prosecutors. <\/strong>, including the judges and prosecutors associations traditionally related to the PSOE. No law had aroused such widespread rejection in the more than 40 years that we have had democracy in Spain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Those responsible for the approval of this law in Congress<\/big><\/p>\n

This law violates the Constitution, judicial independence and equality before the law and does so, furthermore, with the sole purpose of providing a personal benefit to Pedro S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, in order to ensure the necessary support for his permanence in power at any price. In this constitutional regime, never had a politician taken his personal interest and his lack of scruples when it came to governing so far<\/strong>. But it must be said, to be fair, that Pedro S\u00e1nchez is not the only one responsible for the success of this coup to the rule of law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the end of that dossier there is the link to the page of the vote held today in Congress (see PDF)<\/a>, in which this unconstitutional law has been approved by 178 votes in favor and 172 against. That PDF is a public document. This is the list of the deputies who have voted in favor of the amnesty<\/strong>, so that there is a record of what they have done and tomorrow they cannot come denying their participation in this attack on the Rule of Law :<\/p>\n
