Yugoslavia in 1941. <strong>Tito served as dictator of Yugoslavia until his death on May 4, 1980<\/strong>. During his tenure, one of his concerns was the indoctrination of young people into communist ideology. For this, he designed <strong> the so-called Kumrovec Political School, built in his hometown<\/strong>, which was inaugurated in 1974.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53628105266_bf628cb5ae_o.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">The exterior of the Kumrovec Political School (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sosbrutalism.org\/cms\/16531076\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kramar \/ sosbrutalism.org<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p><strong>The school was officially called \"Politi\u010dka \u0161kola Josip Broz Tito\"<\/strong> (Josip Broz Tito Political School) and was managed by the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia, the sole party of that dictatorship. <strong>The building, the work of architects Danilo Cvijetkovi\u0107 and Miomir Lu\u017eaji\u0107, had an original brutalist style<\/strong>, with straight and angular shapes. It had 170 rooms, a cinema, a gym, a library, a restaurant and a nuclear bunker, the interior of which is partially flooded today.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53627212927_dcc51e4794_o.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">The lobby of the building, in a photo taken in 2015 (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sosbrutalism.org\/cms\/16531076\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kramar \/ sosbrutalism.org<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p><strong>The school closed its doors in 1990<\/strong>, after the start of the wars that led to the disappearance of Yugoslavia.
