I have been interested in politics as a defense of ideals for many years, but there is a certain vision of politics that makes me nauseous.<\/p>\n
The PP leaked to Ok Diario that Vidal-Quadras wants to run in its candidacy<\/big><\/p>\n This Wednesday, Ok Diario published a piece of news<\/a> with this headline: \"Vidal-Quadras offers himself to the PP to go on its list for the European elections<\/strong>.\"<\/em> According to the news, the former MEP of the Popular Party and former Vox candidate \"has proposed to the Popular Party the possibility of running as a candidate in these elections.\"<\/em> The news affirms this offer as something pending a response<\/strong>, pointing out the following: \"The possible incorporation of Vidal-Quadras would complete a list that will be closed by the philosopher Fernando Savater, as announced by Feij\u00f3o this very Wednesday.\"<\/em><\/p>\n The PP rejected Vidal-Quadras' request but it was not published by Ok Diario<\/big><\/p>\n That news was published in the morning. In the afternoon Vidal-Quadras told what happened in<\/strong> an article<\/a> in VozP\u00f3puli, with this title: \"Una profunda decepci\u00f3n<\/strong>\"<\/em> (A deep disappointment). Vidal-Quadras begins by pointing out that both the headline and the content of the Ok Diario news \"are correct and absolutely true\"<\/em>, and then explains the following:<\/p>\n \"Given that someone among the very few people, all of whom are close to the president of the PP, who are aware of this matter has leaked it with malicious intent<\/strong> to the aforementioned digital website against my intention of keeping it completely confidential, I consider myself entitled to expose the details of this frustrated operation so that my position on the matter is known.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Vidal-Quadras points out that he made this offer to Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez Feij\u00f3o on February 28<\/strong> in a meeting held in his office at the national headquarters of the PP: \"I expressed my desire to return to Parliament European on the PP list,\"<\/em> comments the former MEP.<\/p>\n The reasons alleged by Vidal-Quadras for this request are six:<\/strong> his work supporting the Iranian resistance (something that seems commendable to me), providing \"a clear signal of the ability to unify the center-right\"<\/b>, the sympathy towards him generated by the assassination attempt he suffered on November 9, 2023, his vast experience and abundant contacts, his political activity from civil society and, finally, increase its level of protection against another possible attack<\/strong>.<\/p>\n That said, Vidal-Quadras adds: \"Yesterday morning I was notified of the rejection of my offer due to my age<\/strong>, a criterion that I am told has been applied to the majority of the list.\"<\/em> That is to say, the PP leadership rejected his offer on Tuesday and immediately leaked it to a related media<\/strong>, to take advantage of it and perhaps try to capture some votes from Vox, but that yes, without saying that they had already rejected their offer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Vidal-Quadras denounces \"an intention to humiliate me lacking all humanity\"<\/big><\/p>\n Vidal-Quadras does not hide his anger: \"the leak to a media outlet of my claim a few hours before rejecting it reveals an intention to humiliate me lacking all humanity<\/strong> in light of the dramatic connotations of my suggestion\"<\/em>, despite which he recognizes that he will be in Barcelona this Saturday to support the PP candidate in the Catalan elections, because \"unlike others, I am always loyal to my principles.\"<\/em><\/p>\n The admirable work of Vidal-Quadras in support of the Iranian resistance<\/big><\/p>\n Of course, I am not going to question Vidal-Quadras' principles because he supports the party he decided to leave a decade ago. This man has suffered an assassination attempt for defending those principles<\/strong> and for that, in my opinion, he deserves the greatest respect. I also believe that his work in support of the Iranian resistance is worthy of praise<\/strong>, and I hope that he continues with this activity in favor of freedom in whatever organization, media or platform from whoever decides to do it.<\/p>\n Although he mentioned her last, I understand that concern for his safety must be very important to him after the crime he suffered a few months ago: I understand and respect it<\/strong>, especially considering that we live at a country whose government allows Palestinian terrorists to demonstrate in the streets of Madrid<\/a>.<\/p>\n Today's PP is even worse than the PP that Vidal-Quadras abandoned 10 years ago<\/big><\/p>\n All in all, I am saddened that Vidal-Quadras has offered to Feij\u00f3o to unify the \"center-right\" while the PP insists on allowing itself to be dragged ideologically by the left-wing<\/strong>. Just yesterday, without going any further, Feij\u00f3o once again reaffirmed that attitude supporting a recognition of Palestine as a state<\/a>. We are talking about a party that has bought the discourse of the left on issues such as abortion, gender ideology, criminal discrimination against men<\/strong>, immigration policy, ecological radicalism and a long etcetera.<\/p>\n Feij\u00f3o is not only a clear representation of that ideological drift of the PP<\/strong>, but he also added the ingredient of linguistic nationalism<\/a> during his time as president of the government of Galicia. With Feij\u00f3o at the helm, the PP has done nothing other than accentuate this leftist drift.<\/strong> Today's PP is even worse than the PP that Vidal-Quadras abandoned 10 years ago.<\/p>\n No Spanish MEP from the PP signed a petition for Vidal-Quadras<\/big><\/p>\n But in addition to allowing itself to be dragged by the left in matters of principles, the PP also exhibits a way of treating people that is purely disloyal<\/strong>. Vidal-Quadras already confirmed this in person in 2009, when Aznar removed him from the presidency of the Popular Party of Catalonia as payment for the support of the Catalan nationalists<\/strong> for his government.<\/p>\n In January of this year, Vox asked the EU to include the criminal who shot Vidal-Quadras on Europol's most wanted list<\/a>, after it became known that The S\u00e1nchez government excluded him from that list<\/a> in a suspicious favor treatment towards this evildoer. That Vox petition was signed by 28 MEPs from four groups.<\/strong> Among the signatories there was no member of the Popular Party of Spain.<\/a><\/p>\n Now, after rejecting his request to be included in the lists, they are using him in the media<\/strong> to try to subtract votes from Vox, but hiding that they had already rejected him, so that the leak would be more successful. Seriously, Don Alejo: do you think that a party that behaves like this and that exhibits this lack of principles deserves your support?<\/strong> I think not, but you have more experience than me in life and it is you who must value it. In any case, I did not start voting for Vox because of a name, but because of its principles<\/strong>, and as long as Vox remains faithful to those principles, I will continue to vote for Vox.
