{"id":55746,"date":"2024-05-05T22:18:44","date_gmt":"2024-05-05T20:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=55746"},"modified":"2024-05-11T02:09:18","modified_gmt":"2024-05-11T00:09:18","slug":"images-of-a-spanish-leopardo-2e-tank-in-action-published-by-the-latvian-army","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/05\/05\/images-of-a-spanish-leopardo-2e-tank-in-action-published-by-the-latvian-army\/","title":{"rendered":"Images of a Spanish Leopardo 2E tank in action published by the Latvian Army"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have already spoken here on occasion about the excellent COMCAM (combat cameras) that some NATO armies have.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/05\/04\/el-ejercito-espanol-desfila-en-riga-en-el-34o-aniversario-de-la-independencia-de-letonia\/\">The Spanish Army parades in R\u0113zekne on the anniversary of Latvia's independence<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/11\/17\/the-spanish-army-wins-an-international-main-battle-tanks-competition-in-latvia\/\">The Spanish Army wins an international main battle tanks competition in Latvia<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>One of those photographers that I have already mentioned on several occasions is the Latvian Gatis Indr\u0113vics, whose works can be seen at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/gatis_indrevics\/?hl=es\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">his Instagram account<\/a> and also on <a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/latvijas_armija\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Flickr account of the Latvian Army<\/a>, to which I have subscribed for years and which publishes very good images of the Spanish military contingent deployed in Latvia.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53700908348_73127d0e02_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Precisely <a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/latvijas_armija\/albums\/72177720316720599\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Latvian Army Flickr account published this morning an excellent series of photos of the exercise CAT 24<\/a>, a tank competition of the NATO eFP Battlegroup Latvia held on May 3 and in which armored vehicles from the armies of Germany, Canada, Spain, Italy, Norway, Poland and United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53699801227_b9bd511de4_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In this series of photos, taken at <strong>the maneuvering field of the Adazi military base<\/strong> (where the Spanish contingent and the rest of the aforementioned NATO unit are deployed), <strong>we can see the Leopard 2E 134 firing with its 120 mm Rheinmetall L\/55 main gun<\/strong>, protected in a defilade position, that is, leaving only the upper part of the tank exposed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53699801297_79d821edbd_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53701033594_246b1bf824_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53700693371_794055ce0a_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53699819787_abcb7ecf7c_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can see below <strong>photos of tanks from other armies in this exercise<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53700927733_56095d24ac_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Canadian Army Leopard 2A4M CAN<\/strong>, an improved local version of the Leopard 2A4 CAN, with additional modular armor added.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53700927673_357b56c118_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Polish Army PT-91 Twardy<\/strong>, an improved Polish version of the Soviet T-72.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53699821072_265a758428_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Leopard 2A4NO of the Norwegian Army<\/strong>. That country has already decided to replace these tanks with a more modern version, the Leopard 2A8 NOR.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53699821052_2f2e40b8af_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Challenger 2 of the British Army<\/strong>.
