S\u00e1nchez gives health care to illegal immigrants<\/big><\/p>\n Yesterday, the government of socialist Pedro S\u00e1nchez<\/strong> announced<\/a> the approval of the Universality Bill for the National Health System (SNS), which grants the right to care in public health - paid for by all Spaniards and legal immigrants - to illegal immigrants<\/strong>, who are mentioned in the Council of Ministers' reference as \"people not registered or authorized as residents in Spain.\"<\/em> Illegal immigrants already had the right to be treated in emergencies, and now they will also have the right to primary care.<\/strong><\/p>\n For cases in which the country of origin of the illegal immigrant is unknown<\/strong> (something very common in these cases, since many people in this situation do not want to provide that information so as not to be returned to their country) , the government will limit itself to requiring a \"responsible declaration\"<\/strong>, \"without prejudice to the fact that, subsequently, when the administrative procedure is resolved, payment for the assistance received by the user must be managed or by a third party obliged to pay.<\/em> An administrative procedure that will be lost in oblivion just like many return orders<\/strong> of those illegal immigrants, who take years to arrive, or who simply never arrive.<\/p>\n A measure that Spaniards and legal immigrants will pay<\/big><\/p>\n On the one hand, Sanchez's project turns Spaniards into second-class citizens in their own country<\/strong>, since they will be obliged to finance with their taxes a health system that will benefit people who , for having entered Spain illegally, they do not pay taxes<\/strong> but they will enjoy that health care just like the Spaniards. This will also discriminate against legal immigrants<\/strong>, who have taken the trouble to respect the law when arriving in Spain and working in this country, and who pay their taxes on time so that others, who arrived illegally, have the same rights as them.<\/p>\n A measure with a call for more illegal immigration<\/big><\/p>\n On the other hand, this measure is a call to many foreigners to emigrate to Spain illegally<\/strong>, since unlike other countries, here they can have the right to complete health care despite not paying taxes and be in an irregular situation. Everything that the S\u00e1nchez government does seems aimed at increasing this appeal effect<\/strong>, at a time when the arrival of illegal immigrants to Spain is registering historic figures<\/a>.<\/p>\n The possible electoral objectives of this measure<\/big><\/p>\n It is worth asking: what will be next? Give them the right to vote?
