As a result of the collision, <strong>one plane crashed<\/strong>, catching fire and causing a column of smoke, <strong>and another ended up falling to the ground<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At 19:33 hours (CET), <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/fap_pt\/status\/1797320618251092078\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Portuguese Air Force reported the death of a Spanish pilot of the Yakstars team<\/a> as a result of this accident. <strong>This patrol flies with seven Yakolev Yak-52 aircraft<\/strong>, manufactured by Aerostar in Romania. As seen on the Yakstars website, it was the plane of the Galician pilot <strong>Manuel Rey Cordeiro \"Coco\", born in Vigo in 1962<\/strong> and a resident of Sig\u00fceiro (Oroso, La Coru\u00f1a). He was Yakstar 4 and played the role of Lead Solo in this team for more than 15 years.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/3880\/14542427397_9aa9340ec6_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/elentir\/14542427397\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The photo that heads this entry<\/a> <strong>was taken at the EC-IAS at the La Coru\u00f1a Air Festival in 2014<\/strong>, during an exhibition of the Spanish aerobatic patrol Jacob 52. <strong>\"Coco\" had almost 18,000 flight hours and worked as a Vueling pilot<\/strong> flying Airbus A-319, A-320 and A-321. Journalist Mikel A. Alc\u00e1zar <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mikelalcazar\/status\/1797337206459134116\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has confirmed<\/a> that \"Coco\" is the deceased pilot in this accident. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/elentir\/14728588712\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Here's another photo from that exhibition in La Coru\u00f1a.<\/a> <strong> The EC-IAS is the aircraft on the left.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/5572\/14728588712_ca157c5769_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dn.pt\/4161854218\/um-morto-e-um-ferido-apos-colisao-entre-dois-avioes-de-acrobacias-no-air-show-de-beja\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Di\u00e1rio de Noticias<\/a>, <strong>the pilot of the second crashed plane is Portuguese, he is 37 years old and has suffered minor injuries<\/strong>, being taken to a hospital in Beja, where he is under observation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My condolences and my hug to the family and friends of the deceased pilot.<\/strong> Fly high, Manuel.
