It is a mountain pass that reaches 1,504 meters of altitude in its Italian part. As a curiosity, this mountain pass has a very ancient origin, since a Roman road, the Via Claudia Augusta, already crossed this site, built in the year 50 AD.

The Reschenpass, on the Italian side, just before the border with Austria (Photo: European Roads).

In addition to connecting Italy with Austria, the Reschenpass is very close to the border with Switzerland. It is the only visible vestige of the town of Graun, in Austria, which was submerged under the waters of Lake Reschen in 1950 due to the construction of a dam to generate hydroelectric energy. In winter, when the lake freezes, it is possible to reach the bell tower by walking on the ice.

A few months ago, Mr.Ram's Adventure Channel published an interesting video in which he travels this beautiful route by car, with some formidable landscapes of the Alps:

---

Main photo: Zairon.

I’m one of those guys who likes to drive, and there are routes that seem designed to enjoy driving a car.

[19536,16882
1905,11680,22284,22285
post-56501","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-we-said-yesterday","category-forests-and-mountains","tag-austria","tag-italy","tag-reschenpass","tag-via-claudia-augusta
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
